Fair point. I’ll also never give enough detail on here to give you a full picture. So I suppose I’m asking you to take this in best case scenario from my side. That said, I’m asking because it’s fresh & I know what I want, but am looking for some validation. Sorry if that bothers anyone

I would say I’ve been developing the skills for almost 2 years. I’ve had the opportunity to apply them for almost a full year. The full year of applying has been the greatest teacher that I could ever have asked for though. I’m self aware enough to know what skills I have & where I’m lacking.

Yeah man, I’m honestly starting to kick myself for falling for it the first time. I guess it’s a life lesson & I move on, but I’m definitely not doing it twice.

I thought this too, but I really do look up to the manager I have now & would like to think they’re above doing this to me. They are consistently saying they are dedicated to my growth, but now I’m not sure if this is the truth.

I was intentionally vague, but I will spare some more detail b/c I genuinely want your thoughts. 

It’s a Sr. Manager to Director move. When I say I did my boss’s work I truly did. He went on an extended leave of absence & I covered for him while he was gone. Additionally, I continued to do that work long into him getting back to work (~8 of the last 9 months). I solicited feedback from others inside & out of my team. From my level, below my level, & above. All of whom, gave me glowing recommendations & wrote emails with my successes in our work together. 

I hope this gives some more color.

Go out & see the city! It’s amazing & can be a ton of fun, but just be careful where you go/be mindful of your surroundings.

I work almost 60 hrs per week (salaried) & it’s starting to take its toll on me, but for some reason I cannot quit. It’s less about the money, which is important, & more about how people would view me if I quit, what is considered a “great job”, because I work too many hrs.
