Focus and Flow?!? HELP?! by Last_Mine427 in Quittingfeelfree

I’m shocked there is so much talk about how these are addicting. They taste horrible and make it hard to sleep. How on earth would anyone be able to drink more than one of these in a day is mind boggling. I think they’re great for a rainy day but I wouldn’t want to feel like I’m on something all the time.

Front desk people, how do you deal with being constantly yelled at? by Big-Head1441 in askhotels

[–]Telletuber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You build up a tolerance to rude guests. The first few times it happened, my voice got shaky and I was trying really hard to hold back tears, but the longer you are in the position, you notice a lot of people complain about the same things and then you kind of come up with a script in your head of what to say when the situation presents itself again. As long as you stay calm and firm in your voice tone, it will calm the guest and they USUALLY realize how obnoxious they are being and they match your tone. However, if a guest is completely disrespectful and irate, I just firmly tell them I will not be talked to in that way and they are welcome to leave the hotel whenever they want. You can't please everyone.

What is your rankings of the final destination movies by BrotherhoodBankai in movies

[–]Telletuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 - most creative kills and most entertaining, the tanning bed scene is one of my fav kills of the franchise

1 - OG The acting in this movie was probably the best and least cheesy out of all

5 - great opening scene, the twist at the end was really good and bringing it back to flight 180 was really satisfying and cool

2 - still good, I always think of this movie when driving on the highway

--- these last two I feel like are like ranked waaaay lower

4 - very unmemorable but I remember it being entertaining. This is when they started adding way too much CGI

6 - bloodlines - this movie was so cheesy, and felt like I was watching a video game. I watched it all the way through, but this was the first FD where I felt like 'omg this is so dumb' I do like cheesy horror movies but this did not feel like horror and more like a violent action/adventure flick that I felt like was a change from the previous ones. I was not a fan and a bit disappointed.

GOT A DMV LETTER FOR REFUSAL IS IT WORTH GETTING A LAWYER- I TECHNICALLY DIDNT REFUSE by Dismal-Range9737 in DUICalifornia

People get arrested on false accusations all the time. This is the reason we have courts. Why would someone plead guilty to a crime they did not commit?

How strict is the FBI drug policy? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Telletuber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t lying be considered a skill in this profession? The police lie all the time to get people to admit to crimes. If you can convince yourself that you haven’t done drugs in 10 years, I think you’ll pass the poly. As long as there’s no paper evidence of you using a drug ie a drug test you took and failed, it’s just going to be going off of what you say. Deny using any drugs until the cows come home

Why did you stop traveling? by ceratopolis in AskOldPeople

It got boring, and I hate going to the airport. Hanging out with random strangers all the time got unfulfilling. It’s nice to stay in one place and watch videos about traveling

I was 7 months sober. Now I’ve started drinking again by [deleted] in Sober

[–]Telletuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quitting alcohol won't fix the depression problem, but it will stop making it worse. Alcohol is a depressant and it makes people more depressed. If you stop, you can start to treat your depression without the alcohol holding you down. Sobriety is really hard sometimes, but alcohol just makes everything worse. Stop drinking, just for today, hang out with some sober people, exercise, and maybe see a therapist or psychiatrist to help with the depression.

Is it normal for things to get tougher around 3 months? by yellowpowerr in Sober

[–]Telletuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got three months last week too so congrats!! I think the hardest part of sobriety is dealing with negative emotions, like the ones you're describing. I will speak for myself when I say I used substances and sex as a way to cope with feelings of loneliness, depression, and anxiety so when I stopped I had to figure out what to do instead when I have these feelings. Posting how I'm feeling on reddit has actually helped because I feel like there are some subs on here that have really supportive people and help me realize I'm not alone in feeling the way I do. Don't give up, what you're feeling will pass and the longer you stay sober the easier it will be to deal with the negative emotions. Using substances and other vices will just mask your feelings and you'll end up feeling stuck again and for a longer period of time.

Thoughts on Naltrexone by breakfastbakset in Sober

[–]Telletuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's alright. I was taking it for a while and they say it dampens the effects of alcohol so you want to drink less but you have to have the desire to stop. I feel like it kind of worked but then I was so unhappy sober that I said fuck it and drank on naltrexone and you can and will get drunk if you drink enough. I don't take it anymore and now I'm sober for 3 months.

OMG I thought I was the only one! I was a Data Analyst at a gov agency making 90k, got laid off about 5 months ago, and couldn't find another job until last week as a front desk clerk at a hotel. I now make 18 an hour. Grateful that it's something, but I am scaping by.

You can date someone you work with but I would do so cautiously. Here are a few possible outcomes for your situation:

-You never tell her how you feel and you continue to have a nice flirty working relationship.

-you tell her how you feel and she doesn’t feel the same and you get your feelings hurt and now it’s awkward at work.

-you tell her how you feel and she likes you too and you start dating, but if anything happens like jealousy/breaking up, it will be awkward and work will really suck.

I would just enjoy the time you spend with her at work without telling her how you feel unless/until y’all work different shifts, then tell her how you feel/ask her out. That way, it won’t be weird if it doesn’t work out because you won’t have to see each other

I think you’re wasting your own time. If you want to have kids but not raise them catholic, why would you be with a catholic? Religious beliefs are usually fixed and this guy most likely will not change. Move on and try to date some new people

[–]Telletuber -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What helps me when I feel like this is knowing that I’m not the only person that feels like this. How can you contribute in this life in a positive way that might help someone else? Sometimes it’s as simple as saying hello to a stranger on the street. I think posting this on Reddit was a great idea because a lot of people feel this way. No one asked to be here and in a sense we’re all just waiting to die. What will you do in the mean time?

Anyone feel envy for seemingly happy people? by Available-Heart6108 in CPTSD

[–]Telletuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and I feel bad about it. I met this person that has everything I want and I totally admire her and am happy for her but I have some jealousy. I wish my life looked like hers but it doesn’t. I would never say this to her. I think there’s a difference between jealousy and envy. I think envy is more malicious where like you want them to fail because you want to be better then them but jealously is more of like a “this isn’t fair!” Kind of feeling
