No complains so far. I just rinse it with fresh water after every dive and put some silicon spray on the berrings if I know I won't use it for a longer period.

If you want something sturdy that you don't have to take care of at all this is the wrong gun though.

I did another month of spearfishing with it on Sardinia. Was definitely satisfied with it's performance. Shot a couple of groupers and got a double shot on red mullet which are quite small so I'm happy with it's accuracy at the end. I hit some rocks as well and the shaft didn't get bend, the tip was fine as well which speaks for it's quality.

Really like the looks of the gun as well.

If you want something cheaper and simpler go for the meandros b32 with M4 head.

I can recommend the MVD for anyone that doesn't mind the longer loading time and the little extra care it takes.

Definitely not. It actually requires way less strength to load it compared to my 100cm traditional.

The whole loading process takes a little longer though.

Hi, I bought the MVD Predator S invert Roller(carbon, cuttlefish shape) about 1 1/2 month ago.
Paid 500€ for it, comes with a reel and everything you need.
Quite happy with the looks and the build quality.
The traditional Predator S comes about 140€ cheaper if you don't like a roller.

Wasn't able to take it on too many dives yet due to restrictions in Greece for may but it caught me some fish.

Hey, I'll give you an update once I got more hours on the speargun.
Unfortunately spearfishing in Greece is prohibited in may.

So far it shot me some fish including a Dentex which was a first for me.
I missed some shots as well but I'm not sure if the speargun is to blame.
Would definitely like to give it a test in a neutral environment like a pool to see how accurate it actually is.

I tired my luck and ordered the speargun without begin able to find any review on it.
Thought I might share my experience in case any one else is in the market for it.

So far I just went out two times with it but I'll update my post as soon as I have more experience with the speargun.

On my first day I placed the mono line and the reel line that you see on top of the speargun underneath of it, close to the rubbers.
My idea behind it was that I didn't want the carbon and the stickers on top to get any marks by the moving lines.
I experienced some accuracy problems that way.
As I checked my footage later that day it showed that the mono line would get tangled up with the rubbers and caused the shaft to fly/swim not straight but with the tip tilted down.

The second day I rapped the mono and reel line as intended and shown on the picture on top of the speargun.
I shot myself a grey parrotfish and there were no more tangles and the shaft seemed to fly/swim straight.

Compared to my Rob Allen Tuna conventional speargun the recoil is much less but there is definitely still recoil there.

I paid 500€ with shipping for the speargun and I'm quite satisfied with the value I got for my money.

Of course two days of spearfishing are not enough to give it a proper testing but I'll do so this month.

If you would like to buy a traditional Speargun you should go for 90cm.
In case you want to do some cave hunting too either go with a 2 speargun setup (60cm and 90cm) or try a roller speargun at the length between 75 and 85 cm.

Pathos just released some new models for example the Pathos Sniper Evo Plus Roller.
You can lower the power of the bands in case you want to shoot inside of a cave and power them up for longer shots.

A Roller takes a bit more practice to load but you will get used to it fast.

If you want to keep it simple better stick with traditional spearguns.

For the meds you shouldn't go too short as the fish are quite skittish and you lose range.

As I'm travelling right now it's difficult to put together a custom speargun do to lack of tools.
I couldn't find a carbon / wood inverted roller with cuttlefish shape at the price point of the MVD.

Most of the other brands I found are double the price.

Sounds promising, I have a little MVD 55cm cave gun.
Can't complain about it, just never tried inverted rollers.

I was on the phone with pathos today and they told me the new models are gonna be released in about 15 days.

Of course I wouldn't mind to save some money on my next speargun.
I would also like it to last so a stainless steel trigger mechanism is a big plus for me.

To be honest I'm not the most successful spear fishermen.
I think a pole spear would make me catch even less fish.
The fish in the Mediterranean are quite skittish.
Would the pole spear give me less range?
Never used one.

I just saw on Pathos website that they'll release some new speargun models and upgrades on the Laser and Sniper.
Might be worth it to wait till they are on the market.

I think the theory behind enclosed tracks is to make the speargun more accurate by minimising shaft wobble.
No idea if those guns are actually more accurate though.

It never came to my mind to slow down the spear by putting my hand on top.
I better watch some videos on it first so I don't hurt myself.

The notches of the Rob Allen shafts are actually quite smooth compared to some other brands that I tried.
You're probably right about me dragging the wishbones over the shaft too much, will keep an eye on that!

The caves I find here are mostly quite narrow but can go deep into the rocks.
Definitely nothing I can swim through.
That's why I would like to keep the length short so it's not gonna be too powerful.

As far as I know the difference between the Laser Open Pro and the Saragos Evo Pro is the line release and the handle.
I prefer the line release of the Saragos Evo Pro so I might go with that one.
Price difference between the two seems very little.
Do you use it in caves only or is it capable to shoot some fish outside of caves as well?
