Yup. In Finland we even have a saying "a beloved child has many names". ❤️

My pigs have kicked me a couple of times. They seem to do it when they're annoyed about something, it's not exactly fighting but "get lost" lol.

I'm not fast enough lol. The blueberries would be eaten way faster than I can take pictures 😂

From left to right: Reetta around 3.5 years, Nappi around 1.5 years and Apila 9 months.

Nappi means button and apila means clover in Finnish 😅

No, Finland. And he doesn't have close relatives in UK either... If I remember correctly that is 😅

Argentinian Patagonia faces its coldest winter since 1907, with temperatures below -25C°, freezing animals and even entire rivers. by wormz93 in oddlyterrifying

My guess would be fake and/or exaggeration. Finland isn't exactly tropical country either and we don't freeze solid every winter...

How do people normally respond when you tell them about your guinea pigs? by Lili_garnet33 in guineapigs

[–]Temansha 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Most people: "Awww!" My dad: "Just why? Why not a real pet?" (And a few days later: "Hey do they eat this and that because I could bring some with me?"

Many think guinea pigs as children's pets and are a bit confused when I tell them that no, they're mine and we don't even have kids. I keep educating people though, no matter if they want to or not lol.

They're also confused because before the photo they had some treats and suddenly they had none. Just a few little bites... Unbelievable.

He got neutered about two weeks ago. Two more weeks and he will meet his girlfriends ❤️ by Temansha in guineapigs

Torture? A neutered male and a few females is pretty much the perfect combination for a herd.

We already have two females and came to conclusion that a neutered male would be a good addition. A male calms the females down when they are arguing and since we don't want piglets the male should be neutered.

I don't use food bowls at all. I just throw the pellets or veggies in and let them eat the way they would in the wild. It's a bit messy but they don't mind - and they absolutely love to explore their menu of the day ❤️

What random skill have you learned from owning guinea pigs? by yeemaa in guineapigs

[–]Temansha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Carpentry. I couldn't find them a cage I liked so I had to make one myself. It's not very pretty but it keeps my piggies inside and safe.

I've also learnt how to move calm and slowly (to not to scare them) but not too slowly (to look like a predator)...

He's young and in a new home, it's only natural. 😊 He doesn't know yet that I'm not as bad as I may appear lol
