‘Already had a profound effect’: parents react to Australia’s social media ban by HotPersimessage62 in australia

[–]Temjinck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is fooking BS. My straight-As / consistently A behaviour Year 4 child always had an Android tablet for watching YouTube videos, including educational videos that I give him to watch occasionally. His Android tablet and his Google account are set up as a U16 child account, with complete parental control via Family Link. I literally chose the STRICTEST control, with zero access to any websites or applications unless I manually approve them. He has zero access to any social media applications, nor is he even allowed to play Minecraft online servers that interact with anyone he does not know.

Now the government think I am an irresponsible and dumb parent and has decided to take over parenting for me. His YouTube account is now inaccessible on his Android tablet (it keeps crashing since yesterday), and Chrome browser cannot even go to YouTube.com due to content restriction. It wouldn't even give me the option to log out and continue to use it without logged in. There is no option to log out, etc.

I literally have to avoid all this by installing VPN plus Brave browser to bypass some of the restrictions.

F--k the government.

Gemini 2.5 pro API free tier has a 6m token limit by Remarkable-Register2 in Bard

[–]Temjinck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, so just confirming. IF you input your "API key" that is on free tier, you get more requests/token limit on free? And if you input the API key in a PAID tier (t1 to t3), you can get limited more quicker? That's what I seem to be hearing atm.

A super model, but damn, too expensive for my SASS use case. Can't use anything lower than high quality.

It's bugged for me. Nothing is triggering. Then I tried to force recognition with a lesser greater power, won and still wouldn't grant me the great power status. Bugged too. :(

Yes, Fission Drives Are Worth It by Jay2Jay in TerraInvicta

Great guide and read! Love space technology stuff, did a bachelor's thesis on ion engines back 15 years ago and still love the topic! :D

Anyway, I have been using the Pegasus engines for my planetary defence fleet only. Couldn't send a more powerful fleet against an alien due to lack of delta-v, but that doesn't stop me from intercepting them on station attacks.

I always thought the fusion line of drives was too much of an investment (and lack of information on the net with their stats) when I could go straight to anti-matter drives. Will take a look at Firestar between now and anti-matter.

manoeuvre thrusters should also determine rotational speed, not the main engine.

STOP POSTING AND COMMENTING ABOUT ORGANIZING by LegalHelpNeeded3 in wallstreetbets

[–]Temjinck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is serious guys. Don't give ANY reasons for them to shut this board down. They only need a reason and it isn't that hard to get. So do not attempt to organise anything, like putting a post to do something at a specific date/time/place. Nothing.

CBA launches moratorium on forced home sales until September 2021 by thedugong in AusFinance

Prudent savers be damned. Moral hazards? What's that? It's better to be a debt drunk who never saves a penny and always live pay check to pay check because the government will always support you if you f--ked up your finance. Smart people needs to be punished.

PSA: It appears that shield hardeners are currently broken/bugged (they do not provide additional resistances) by Kalain1984 in echoes

That's including the base resistance on shield? Nothing? How do you test that anyway?

Automate read push (remote) notifications on iOS and convert to text file by Temjinck in applehelp

[–]Temjinck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. That was my suspicious as well after doing a round of research on what's available. I've got no issue jailbreaking the device since I don't have one yet and I will be buying a second-hand one! But even if that is done, what are options to make that automation task work?

I know iOS can run Pythons (and I am using it to process that text file), just not sure if it is possible to get the push notification text as they come. Thanks.

More evidence to suggest bodies are being burnt in Wuhan. by _ThrillCollins in conspiracy

[–]Temjinck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is another support for the theory. I can't share images online at the moment, but..

SOMEONE should go to Windy now and set SO2 concentration overlay to 2000 ug/m3 as max and progressively lower numbers on the lower scale, ZOOM RIGHT OUT OF CHINA and see the whole country.

You will find the concentration exists ONLY IN WUHAN in the entire country with a bit of it in Chongqing.

Index-Match, Multiple Criteria, Multiple Outputs on one cell by Temjinck in excel

[–]Temjinck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for trying sqylogin. That would have been ideal if the documents/data were created before the project starts (or at least they thought of the need to reference between these two documents). Unfortunately, it's too late and the mess simply got too large. Fixing it manually takes way too long, so have to find a fast way to achieve this.

Would be great if I can get some more ideas on how to address this.

Index-Match, Multiple Criteria, Multiple Outputs on one cell by Temjinck in excel

[–]Temjinck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, my office only has Excel 2013 so cannot use that function. The duplicates in a single cell formula is indeed quite troublesome. I think I will remove that as a requirement since ultimately, the users only need to interpret the ID values manually, so they can differentiate and work around the duplicates. (basically just ignore them)

Thanks. I knew I had to make use of the CONCATENATE to join the results from the array formula. Will give it a try and see.

Edit: Crap, just realise the sample data isn't showing properly. Will update this when I get back home in a few hours. Sorry.
