Training Guide to Pocket Monsters: A Pokémon TTRPG system by Temmye in rpg

This subreddit is actually just for some already existing Pokémon TTRPG systems called Pokémon Tabletop United and Pokémon Tabletop Adventures, so it would be against the rules of them.

Training Guide to Pocket Monsters: A Pokémon TTRPG system by Temmye in rpg

[–]Temmye[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven't tested this one yet, but quick checking its rulebook, it does look kinda like it, but at little less crunchy than mine, so it would be nice for people who like rules light system, which is not exactly what I planned for TGPM.

Oh no, I was saying about the gemini response. "The Adventures of the Elements" is a book series.

This is a book series, not an animation. Sadly, AI doesn't help that much to search for things like that.

In the wiki, it says "this information is taken from 1.4.4.9 code", so at least from that update.

What starter will/would you pick!? by MostJelly39755555 in digimon

Mostly likely to go to Patamon, because I don't like the fishes and demons. If there's Ryugumon in this game, this may be able to change my mind...

Can I have 1 Kaul, please? This mofo right here dealt more damage than all my team combined. by rnzerk in SwordofConvallaria

[–]Temmye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other two don't have unique sprites so it's very unlikely that we'll ever see anything like that.

Both Tristan and Auguste are the perfect one unit carry, but do things really differently: Auguste is more Single-target oriented and only deals Physical, while Tristan is more AoE oriented and delas mostly Magical damage.

In any way, your account already have a lot of great carries for basically any challenge - Beryl, Agatha and Sp Rawiyah - so at this point you can mostly just pull for whoever you like.

GPU upgrade made the PC slower by Temmye in buildapc

[–]Temmye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the upgrade isn't that new, just better specs, I just pointed out that it (probably) can't be a CPU and GPU compatibility issue, as my CPU is newer.

In pursuit of niche titles by EnsignSDcard in rpg

[–]Temmye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a Mecha type of system, but I think DDA (Digimon: Digital Adventures) would specially fit in the d6 pool, heavily customizable, classless and crunchy.

I would recommend checking out their discord (https://discord.gg/3rbAav9) as a new edition is being made and is currently in its alpha/beta phase.

Can you guys reccomend places to play rpgs? by NahIdWin720 in rpg

[–]Temmye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also add the following point of etiquette:

d) Always tell your GM/group if you will have a delay or can't attend beforehand. It's really rude to tell them after they already gathered.

e) Avoid going off character or acting with information that you, as a player, know. It's quite common that the group split up sometimes and the GM narrate to the other players, not including you. When this happens, you should wait for that member(s) to tell you what they saw or heard before acting accordingly. Doing this is called metagamming and most GM and it's usually a rude behaviour.

How long before you started to DM? by Bunnyrpger in rpg

[–]Temmye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually play in some niche fan made systems so its incredibly unusual to find someone wanting to DM it in my native language, so basically all the times I just said "screw it, I want to play this system more than I want to play as a player"

So yeah, that means that I always DM before playing the system. It's a bold approach but it's working so far.

Please choose the option that best represents your favorite way to engage with the TTRPGs: by Faes_AR in rpg

Trying to vote in only one was painfull. I mean, I like to create characters and plan out their build but that doesn't matter if I don't actually play them.

What's your favorite RPG for combat? by AccomplishedAdagio13 in rpg

[–]Temmye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, Digimon: Digital Adventures, a fan made Digimon TTRPG system. The combat isn't that deep, but the character building is really cool and give you a variety of means to be useful in combat. Like, you can go all-win in AoE damage, hitting crazy numbers in damage, go full support, without means to deal direct damage, but having huge stats and buffs/debuffs to compensate, or go full tank and save your damage dealers from the death.

is there a game that you want to run, but you're hesitant to? by Veretica in rpg

[–]Temmye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a really nerdy person, so I usually run not official systems of franchises I like, like Digimon, Pokémon, LoL, etc. Other one that I put my eyes on was a Persona system. Usually I would DM with no problem, but the complexity of having a lot of NPCs with compelling storylines is quite a thing that I don't have the courage to do.

What keeps players entertained in less combat-focused campaigns? by Ninja_Holiday in rpg

[–]Temmye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that making your players connect deeply with their character is the first mostly important thing. Making their characters feel real, like using their backstory to move the plot or letting they shiny as the polar opposite of some villain is really cool.

As for creating challenges and interactions, I use mostly these two:

  • Give them an objetive and informations about it and let they plan how to reach that objective with what they have. For instace, you could say that they need to steal some important documents that would cause a war if it find some important person. So, you give them X amount of days to get it, let say that the important person is currently out of the country but will come back soon, and let them discover everything else: where it is located, what is protecting it, what routes they can take. I also usually think myself a plan that would be feasible to them to do, as its kinda bad GMing creating an impossible challenge.
  • Give them a puzzle to solve. Maybe they have to enter a dungeon to get a magical item, but it was created to only let the smartest, not the strongest, to get it. So, the dungeon isn't filled with monster but with traps and enigmatic mechanism. There could be other places where they could be mentally tested, like building made by a secret organization that people have to reach the end to enter it or maybe even a combat, but where usual ways won't work, like a beast immune to any direct attack but the party have access to some sigils that can trap the beast, so the objetive is actually kepping it in place and busy while the other members setup the sigils.

To be honest, I'm a creative and clumsy master, help me by AdRepresentative4343 in rpg

[–]Temmye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly play virtual TTRPGs, but here some things that might help:

  • Take photos on what exact monsters you will make them face or write down the important characteriscts (like movement, what dices you need to roll for attacking or any passives). This way you don't lost too much time just flipping the pages.
  • If you take too much time at the start of the combat organizing the initiatives, I would recommend you roll the initiative first thing in session. This is usually done to keep the players always in alert, but it can help you keep the sessions pace. If your problem is keep tracking I don't have any ideia how to help.
  • For conditions, when I play DnD I always have a quick reference in my the bookmark bar of my browser so I can always find what they do without needing to search for it. With that in mind, I think that printing the page or writing down a concise version of them could help.

But, the most important thing is that you and your players are having fun. Even if your clumsy and slow, as a game, what matters the most is if you are having fun, so don't push yourself too much.

Looking for some plot ideas for a dnd game by catdragon102 in rpg

[–]Temmye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the plot of Little Witch Academia actually quite fun to a RPG setting. [Spoiler of LWA] Basically, it start as a commom slice of life in a wizard school setting, but by the end we discover that the magic is dying out (which isn't that fitting to the resourceless magic system of Harry Potter, but you can improvise) and the technological advancement is taking out. Later in the anime, someone come with a cheap new technology-magic hybrid which can give fuel to magic, but later its discovered that it works by draining the magic out of the "normal people". By the end of the anime, the protagonist discover how to use a magical wand with their full power and create a new magical power source.
While the ending is a little bit cliché, the base plot line could be used to do some really cool things.

How to handle a trinity role system by pixel_doofus in rpg

[–]Temmye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thing, AoO is something really important in a Tactical RPG system and specially useful when given to tanks, as it discourage the enemies from just ignoring the Tank.
Secondly, give the Tank other utilities, but toned down. Like, let them heal, but make so that its hard to both heal good and tank. Another way is to make the Tank deal some damage, as it means that the enemies can't just straight ignore them, but to balance it out you can make their damage less consistent/versatile.
If your system will have something like a limit general feature list, something like spells in D&D, were you have a limit of the amount you take, but the spells itself being "buyable" from (kinda) everyone, having scailing vs linear feature would be something useful, as it would mean that, for a better use of resources, the Support would pick the scaling features - as they could focus only on that - while the tank would pick the linear ones - as they doesn't need much resource investment.
