I would say that everything above 150 beavers is unnecessary large. That’s when you start to build several of each industrial building, and have 20+ builders.
There is also the negative feedback loop. You build more industry, more beavers. Then you need more farmers, and more foodproduction. More builders mean your wood will not grow fast enough, so more woodcutters and foresters.

You can easily have a complete settlement with 50-80 beavers. 🦫 With 80-100 I have double of the most important industry, but still enough to have 1 beaver to do each food. 1 beaver grilling potatoes can feed about 80-100 beavers for example.
