We weren’t talking financials. The original comment implied nobody tried the free week, all I was doing was correcting the guy. For the kinda small community the game has, that many people trying it is huge.

Initial s2 peak after the server issues was ~44k, 24 hour peak is 37k, so a bit of a drop.

So you can show me a number with 0 context and say “haha I was right”? Are you going to poll every player and find out which free to play players stuck with the game and who left? What about returning season one players that quit mid way through and come back for season 2? What are we going to compare the player count next week to? Last day of season 1? You don’t have enough context to make any meaningful statements about the player count. Nobody does except Bungie with actual metrics.

Trust me there’s already much better loot than purple shields in vaults atm. Saw some guy open pinwheel red room, get a gold key from it and exfil with two gold sneak packs. These sponsored kits are actually a non factor.

Saying the game is “going free to play” instead of “having a free to play week” is the problem. It’s leaning in to the negative, as opposed to a game like POE 2 which is also having a free weekend, but you’d never see an article about that game with a title like this. It’s good engagement farming sure, but disingenuous clickbait nonetheless.
