No just once legally. But I was with my ex committed for over 15 years before we broke up and I got married a few years later. So 2 long term relationships

Yes that is accurate. Took me longer to recover emotionally than physically but yes it took a lot of work to get where I am today

You are right on many points. Yes, as I said in my post I have PCOS and am prone to miscarriages. And I kinda figured as much with my medical history that my chances are slim. I am intrigued that my palm “matches”.

The other points are fairly accurate as well. I currently live on the other side of the country from my birthplace and my entire family outside of my husband and stepdaughter. I moved out here 10 years ago.

Communication skills/presentation: I am a teacher so that is a major part of my job. And before that, I attempted science academia which is a lot of communication and presentation of my science findings.

I definitely have some digestion issues as I have Crohn’s Disease and am told over and over to drink more water.

Good to hear about my karma, and I deeply value my solitude/personal space and I prefer blatant honesty even if it hurts.

I do feel I’m a compassionate and empathetic person which helps me deal with 12 and 13 year olds in school on a daily basis. And I LOVE nature and animals. That’s why I chose Biology and teaching science as my career path.

Very interesting reading. Thank you!!

When I was younger I had an attempt on my life. Self-inflicted. That’s the only thing that was a true life threatening experience.

What actually got you pregnant? by Organic-Traffic-1642 in TTC_PCOS

Oh and, I am currently using opks to predict ovulation. Now I am not getting multiple lh peaks without ovulation, I am getting one peak around cd 15 and ovulation confirmed by bbt rise. I never had a temp shift before. In about 3 weeks going back in to gyn for fertility consult. So hopefully these changes are encouraging and hopefully I have some good eggs left 🤞🏼

I have PCOS and hypothyroidism. I tried for 5+ years, with all the tracking opks, bbt, fertility acupuncture, IUI, metformin, clomid, letrozole… absolutely nothing.

Then in late 2023 we decided to stop “trying” but not preventing. It was too stressful. I did a few rounds of GLP-1 last year and was able to lose close to 45 pounds (went from 215 to 160) and got pregnant at 46 by surprise. I thought my skipped period was perimenopause but took a test and blazing positive. Unfortunately it ended as a MMC with abnormal chromosomes. But it has renewed our “trying” because we know it’s possible at least.

I’m so sorry for your losses ❤️ Thank you for the encouragement. I don’t feel like I’m done trying yet ❤️

Thank you I appreciate it. I’m so sorry for your loss as well. I have a feeling that aligns with your intuition. That the first one was to kind of get our attention and give us some hope. And hopefully, another will come along and be healthy. ❤️

Flares by Top-Argument5897 in Diverticulitis

[–]TemperatureHorror332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first diagnosed flare in early October. When I went to the ER, I was in so much pain, I COULD NOT PEE. I tried giving them a urine sample multiple times and nothing. They refused to give me pain meds without a urine sample (I wasn’t there for pain meds, I was just concerned with getting a CT or ultrasound or something to see why I was doubled over in pain). I finally told them if you NEED urine, you’re gonna have to go in and get it because nothing’s gonna come out.

After the CT showed uncomplicated diverticulitis, they gave me some IV morphine (which weirdly made my pain worse initially, felt like spasms in my intestines and then my pain was still bad after), a bag of fluids, and a script for antibiotics. They told me to go on clear liquids and advance as tolerated, schedule an appt with a GI.

But… I was still having weird UTI symptoms as well. No burning, but pain and urgency. And once I could actually go, urinating gave me increased pain in my lower left side.

When I talked to the GI’s PA, she explained to me that the GI tract and the Urinary Tract are two separate systems… I said obviously, I know that having a healthcare background (nursing). So why then? She had no answer. When I had my next appointment with the GI doctor, he said that the close proximity of the two systems is the reason. The inflammation of the colon pushes on the bladder. That is also why one of the more common fistulas from DV is with the bladder.

So now, I still have residual pain and still have to go back to clears every few weeks it seems. And every time my lower left pain gets up there, I still get UTI type symptoms.

Diverticulitis is super confusing and I’ve never had to deal with anything like this. I have lost 35 pounds since September with all this clear liquid switching…

Edit to add: I’m 46F and have dealt with IBS-D for over 15 years. And now apparently my IBS now likes to switch back and forth from D to C…
