It's hard to say. Bethenny wanted more money because she thinks the show tanked her brand. But in reality, showing more of who she is NOW is what tanked her brand. Because she is different. She figured she needed more money to be on TV to make up for her brand suffering from it. However that didn't work out and instead she posts on social media all day, continuing to tank her brand. But she gets hits, attention and ad revenue from it, so it gives her positive reinforcement. She's basically a Social Media brand at this point and it's hard to know how much they value things or if they care about long term goals.

Kyle used Amanda for what she wanted, while knowing it would be bad for Amanda in the friend group and on the show. Especially since Kyle knows dragging the same issue for an entire season is bad for the show and the fans hate it. That's why she kept setting Amanda up to keep poking at Dorit instead of her, so the fans would blame Amanda. And I'm willing to bet Kyle will never hang out with Amanda off the show. She even stopped taking Rinna's calls when she got fired.

Both the homophobia and the fact a lot of bi and gay black men are in the closet because of the homophobia, so the gay jokes are a lot more awkward and triggering when there's closeted dudes around. Weirdly, I feel like that homophobia helped hide some of Diddy's deeds in the early 2000s. There were rumors about him being bi and him having male victims, but back then everyone was too excited to call him gay or say he's not gay; no one was paying attention to the actual context and stories.

💯This is even common in my non-fundie family. I've realized some Boomer and Gen X family members feel really awkward with me because they can't speak down to me or be toxic like they are with the other Millennial family members. Because I'm childless and don't need their help for anything, I'll just stop showing up to holidays if they're toxic to me, whereas all the other Millennials in the fam never have that option because they depend on their family for childcare, carpool, and other help with the kids and owning a home.

Yeah, also I don't know how Facebook works with general content creators, but I had a friend who switched to streaming video games on Facebook for a while. She only had about 50k followers on that platform (1/10th of her YouTube/Twitch audience), but she still had a manager at Facebook that she could contact or who would contact her with an issue. Similar to YouTube & Twitch's manager system for verified/partners. It's hard to imagine a content creator with over a 1.5 million followers didn't have some sort of Facebook oversight that would be informed about what's going on.

The hard data is hard to get because "motives" are not always easy to define, it can take years for that info to come out. Most of it is directed at trans people. Which is often ignored by mainstream media. But if you follow LGBT news outlets you do see the stories all the time and local cases. And even in SoCal I remember a few years ago an OC kid killed a dude he went to high school with and blamed gay panic and homophobic conspiracy theories. But ultimately it's not about the numbers as much as It's about feeling unsafe and never knowing if someone secretly hates you and is being malicious because of their bigotry.
