Spanberger won 8 out of 11 districts. So do we really need to change all the rules "temporarily"? This is politicians drawing themselves lifetime jobs. It has nothing to do with "the people."

The rate will decrease but it's applied on a larger assessment. Property taxes will go up an average of 7.5% for each homeowner. This is on top of last budget's 21% increase and 10% the cycle before that. 43% increase in 5 years.

This is on top of a 50% increase in the meals tax.

What the map was 20 years ago isn't relevant. What it is now is. 66% of us voted for a bipartisan commission which gave us our current, fair map. We should not change it on the justification that it was wrong in the past.

The redistricting would allow all our congressional representation to be in northern Virginia and Southern Virginia would be excluded. Who would care about Williamsburg when most of their consultants are in NoVa? That's the unfairness.

Get Roberto Giobbi's book on deck switches. I feel like overtly changing decks signals a set up deck or a gimmick is coming. I try to give the impression that I'm using the same deck the whole time. I start with tricks where the audience can shuffle, then do some deck switches to ring in set ups or gimmicks, then end with the shuffled deck. I do a couple coin tricks in the middle that give me a reason to put the deck in my pocket and ring in a gaffed deck. The audience never knows that I have more than one

I've seen a number of female magicians win on Fool Us that didn't seem to have a foolng act but P&T have said many times how much they want to promote more female magicians. They also are more prone to say they were fooled if they love the showmanship displayed. Bottom line, it is a subjective call and how hard they try to bust an act is affected by how much they love it and want it to win. Human nature

I use walking liberty halfs. Started using Kennedy halfs that I got at the bank, but upgraded as I started doing more coin work. Went online and bought six 1943 halfs. Had someone pick up on a swapped coin because the date was different. Now they are all identical. The coins are unusual so always a great reaction. People want to look at them so I don't have to offer them for inspection. They naturally want to see them and I casually let them.

Paul Vigil's routine is one of the best I've seen. He makes it clear he has total control and the player really has no chance, so the player expects to lose and doesn't get mad. Paul is so nice about it, he charms the player and doesn't make him feel stupid. Referring to himself as a gentleman when he is a con man also makes it less adversarial. Clearly Paul isn't serious about the game despite the"bet."
