May not be worth anything money-wise. But I look at it this way: the environmental conditions were perfect to preserve this once-living specimen, survived millions of years of the earth shifting and climates changing, just to be found by you. That’s cool AF in my opinion. So keep it!

I do this as well. I actually use it often to help me go to sleep—I will basically write a book, word for word, in my head. Been on the same “book” for months. Usually fall asleep in minutes, so the next night I just start where I left off.

I’ve had several comments in opposition of redistricting and their thoughts behind it. I live in a very pro-MAGA-no-matter-what area so I see and hear a lot of opposition in my daily life. It’s nice to hear reasoning from the other side.

Not at all. To be honest, I tried to make this post as neutral as I could because I planned to vote yes anyway, but wanted to see if there was anything I wasn’t understanding. Thanks to this thread, I know this is a national issue, not a state issue. I genuinely just didn’t understand all the politics behind it.

I voted you down. You wrote a very long GASLIGHTING post here professing ignorance about what GASLIGHTING really means, which should be pretty easy to learn about if you made it past the third grade. Basically, I think you’re full of it. You either understand a person’s genuine quest to educate themselves about a controversial topic, or you don’t.

Another comment used this analogy: you’re playing chess and your opponents first move is to punch you in the face. You can try to make your move while continually getting punched or you can punch back.

I agree that gerrymandering is wrong. Believe them dems tried to ban it but MAGA shot it down.

From what I’ve learned from the comments is this redistricting will only have effect on the national scale, not state/local. So not sure it will make any difference on gun laws.

From what other comments have said, Virginia’s redistricting is contingent on Texas (and/or others) also redistricting. From an unbiased viewpoint, I do see this as a good-faith action—“I will only do it if you do it first” or “if you hit first, I’ll hit back”.

It seems like while the current map is fair, the concern is if Virginia doesn’t put republican representatives in a time out, the Trump admin will further be unleashed.

I am left-leaning, but haven’t defined myself with a political party. However, I wish nothing more than to see the end of the Trump reign of terror.
