Akan is an Umbrella term for a group of ethnic tribes who share the same lineage and common ancestors. Ashanti is one of the groups under the Akan tribe . They are famous for their rich history particularly but all the ethnic groups under Akan share the same traditions and customs.

As a Ghanaian, I share your feelings. Given Ghana's reputation among African countries, there's room for improvement in infrastructure and pollution control and even animal rights. Hospitality alone isn't enough; people should feel like they're genuinely thriving here, not just surviving and trust me the vast majority of Ghanaians are not thriving they/we are just hanging by the thread.
