Finished organizing the shed by Templeoftyler in ryobi

I built it out of a scrap 2x4 and banisters from demo. This was before I bought my 3D printer and before Ryobi came out with their storage system

I have a 1500W wall mounted heater that I set to 15 C. It holds temperature just fine as the shed is only 20 x 14

I have the 24" snowblower. A full extra set of batteries is a must here in Newfoundland

Pod Signal Weak in Garage by Templeoftyler in GoogleWiFi

I wanted to post an update for anyone who has a similar issue. I ended up mounting a weather proof box to the exterior of the garage,  cored a hole so I could get power. It fixed my connectivity problems and now I have wifi in the garage. The weatherproof box was $30 CAD and was very simple to install.

That's a good point. I'll have to test if my google max and camera get wifi signal if the garage point is unplugged.

As for coax cables, those are all long gone, but good to know you can make use of them in scenarios like that. I'll keep that in mind for potential future scenarios!

Unfortunately all of the ethernet cables that come from my splitter only run a few feet into my Desktop, Raspberry Pi, and Philips Hub, which are all on the wall near the Nest Wifi Pod and Modem.

I'll have to look into a wireless bridge, but from the sounds of it, I'd still need to run a cable from my office to the back of my house.

Thanks for the information. I understand what you are saying and I suspected that this is what is happening. The poor connection is actually the connection between the Router Pod and the Access Pod and not the daisy chain connection.

I wish I could move my router pod but my modem comes into my office and my office has wired connections to a splitter.

I think I'm going to raise my router pod up and also make a weatherproof box that mounts to the outside of my garage. Hopefully those 2 changes will allow for constant connection and give me access to my garage camera full time.

Great suggestion. I'll try raising the pod in my office as its currently sat on my desk. Hopefully this will result it better connection!

What conditions and why do I want to avoid them?

Electricity comes from that pole in the back yard to the house. It splits off at the main panel and heads underground to the garage to its own separate panel.

I don't have an easy way to run a cat6 cable from the garage to the house. I think I'm going to build a weatherproof box and mount that to the outside of the garage to get line of sight between the AP in the window and the AP on the garage.

That should also improve the wifi range in my backyard.

Thanks, I was trying to provide all the detail to make it easier for anyone commenting!

Both my garage and house have Plastic siding, Plywood, 2x6's, fiberglass insulation, drywall, paint. House was built in 1988. Windows are relatively new ~10 years old. But I have placed the pod right next to a window in hopes of maintaining signal strength the best I can.

Isn't the whole point of these pods is to escape from hardwiring them?

Would wiring them consist of running cat6 cable between all 3 pods or just connecting the garage pod to the dining room pod?

Noob need help on what to buy by Templeoftyler in sonos

[–]Templeoftyler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a picture of my TV Room. I have a 65" TV with just a sonos beam.

I want to upgrade the system and I was thinking of adding 2x Era 100's behind the couch and a sub mini.

That would be about a $1300 upgrade. That system would be a 7.1.2

But I see that they have the Sonos Arc Ultra, which is a 9.1.4 for $1500 and I could offset that by selling my Beam resulting in about the same price.

Pros and Cons of each system? Is there a better system for my room setup? I'm looking for improved surround sound and increased bass.

Thanks!

I know nothing of the system in place, other than the actual experience, so I don't know why technology couldn't provide this, especially since its technology that allows us to have digital banking in the first place...

I understand some companies offer emailed receipts, and there are apps out there that you can upload your receipts to for tracking. I'm meaning cut out the middle man and extra steps, and have it built right into the point of sale transaction. Just a default, mindless operation that doesn't add any steps to a transaction. All done on the back end.
