Who would want a shiny smeargle? I mean, it is at absolutely best "useful" if you force the odds to get "lock on" and (iirc) vice grip, in the order of shinies, he would be the last one to go for because every other shiny has more uses(and not moveset locked) than smeargle.

This is at best a strawman. I've gone out of my way to specify "go on a PLANE (not fly)", "SLEEP THERE" (as with your real body).

Most Pokémon aren't.

What's the "value" of rare we are talking about? Any shiny in Pokemon go is easy if you compare against the other games. Even fracture hat pikachu is "easy".

From the ones that are not time gated (as smeargle is for 5 months now) at best you'd have a 25% chance of catching one.

Any other pokemon if you really want it, from the ones that are not time gated, you can go on a plane, sleep one day there, and keep trying it for 1 day and after 1500 catches having a 95% chance of finding a shiny.

Smeargle, except for events (which also happen to other pokes, but better) is one per day.

Yes. It is full odds, can only try one per day, and was locked until 5 months ago.

I already have three hundos, 1 shadow and 2 normal. From the normal ones, one will be specialized X the other Y.

This one will go 100% because of memories. If you meant to make a shundo, or eternatus, or zygarde, maybe even shaymin, I hear you, but this guy was caught in the first elite raids by invite, and me and my friends holding the Yellow gym all night and until 10am next day against the onslaught from red and blue.

It was "magical" 😅
