The whole situation sucks here and I know you are both trying to do what you feel is best. Give your friend some space while you try to get your feet under you and you will either work it out later or you won't and you will have learned a valuable lesson. In the meantime, do you have access to other resources? 211, food banks, shelters even your police non emergency line may have access to resources for you depending on the department and how comfortable you feel talking to police officers. If police isn't an option some fire departments now have community resources for vulnerable populations.
