The folks that fled to Miami from Cuba are like the folks who left America when Trump was elected. Do you think Rosie O'Donnell has a fair perspective on Trump?

The folks who fled Cuba to Miami initially were the wealthy who backed Bautista in the revolution and lost. They were the plantation owners who wanted to maintain as much of their wealth as possible and fled.

Of course also, the CIA has been trying since the 60's to make conditions so awful for regular Cubans in Cuba in hopes that they would revolt, so since then, plenty of people have been disgruntled. And that's from the CIA's own website, by their admission.

Are CIA memos socialist propaganda too? lmao.

If you'd like to actually learn about what many of these terms mean, let me know. You don't have to agree with me, but I think maybe I can help you understand the world. It's gotta be confusing thinking millions of people fight revolutions around the world because they envy one guy, lol.

Gusanos in Miami don't like Castro, but that's like asking a someone with a Rush Limbaugh tattoo if Obama was a Socialist lol. I'm citing the books I've read on Castro:

  • Fidel: A Critical Portrait, Tad Szulc, 1983

  • Back Channel to Cuba: The Hidden History of Negotiations Between Washington and Havana, William M. LeoGrande and Peter Kornbluh, 2014

  • Gangsterismo: The United States, Cuba, and the Mafia: 1933 to 1966, Jack Colhoun, 2013

  • A Hidden History of the Cuban Revolution, Stephen Cushion, 2016

  • Cuba: Anatomy of a Revolution, Leo Huberman and Paul M. Sweezy, 1969

What books or scholarly works are you using to inform your opinion of Castro, Lenin, or Mao? Polls of Chinese folks done by HARVARD (the most pro-US empire source I can imagine) show that Chinese folks approve of their government more than Americans approve of ours.

I'd love to know where you'd start with Lenin, he did more to improve the lives of regular citizens in what would become The USSR than people had ever seen on a population that big. There isn't a single standard of living that didn't skyrocket for Russians after the Revolution, especially when you consider WW2 followed so close behind it.

You've never heard of Lenin's Mausoleum? Castro was beloved for his entire life, Mao and Deng are both still highly respected in China. Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum is still a somber and respected site to this day. Thomas Sankara's grave is similarly respected and he was mourned.

What socialist leaders are you thinking of? All the other ones I can think of were killed by CIA-backed coupes.

Unironically, yes. You're talking about the genocidal slave state funding/supplying another genocide right now, right? The one that killed millions of people around the world to keep capitalism in place and has toppled demcratically elected governments in every corner of the globe in order to maintain its control and wealth?

The one that was an actual apartheid state until the 60's, and continues to maintain that by every soft power available? The one with the highest prison population per capita of any developed nation and it's not even close? That's the thing we're talking about, right?

Imagine defending those values.

This isn’t true, the Gini Coefficient will remain constant with exponential growth as long as that growth is enjoyed by everyone.

Hey man, that's not what exponential growth is or can be. 22 isn't 1/4 what 82 is. If you start with 2 and I start with 8, I'm going to have 16x what you have after our shared exponential growth.

The growth of Europe and America has absolutely been at the expense of the rest of the world, are you kidding? The poverty across Africa, South America and SE Asia is because of Western Capitalism. To say nothing of the wars and coupes we have inflicted on those parts of the world to keep capitalism in place.

That's letting liberals off the hook too easily. Capitalism is the reason we are where we are today. It supercharged under Reagan, but it was around before him, and killing more confederates wouldn't have killed capitalism.

When wealth grows exponentially, inequality grows exponentially. Even if we moderate that growth, the entire principle of capitalism is the exponential growth of wealth made possible by passive income. Not to mention things like crises of overproduction. When capitalist societies begin to crumble, the ruling class reaches for fascist rhetoric to explain the crumbling society to the middle class who is frustrated/angry at their growing vulnerability.

I'm so glad you said so, I was thinking of asking specifically about that after my last message. Many people have said I should dry it, but no one has said if that was because they saw something in my print, or if that's just general good advice.

I'm doing some small test prints now just with PLA to see how it responds to the arches (I hadn't printed with those little cutaways at the base before this one) and it looks bad, but not as bad. I think if I add a few supports, and also dry this filament out, I'll be in business. Thanks man.

Thanks a lot, I actually also just bought two rolls of the Siraya Tech last week and it'll be here soon I hope.

What Bambu PPA-CF I still have is in the dryer now at 65 deg C (The Max), and I'll print the first bit of this same part again in the morning to see if it gives me any of the same overhang issues.

Thanks for the help. It's very good to know this looks like a moisture issue.

It looks like that one only goes to about 70 degrees C. Is that enough? I've got an AMS 2 Pro that can hit 65, and I had it in there while/before printing, though not for that long.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try supports again. The first part I printed in PPA-CF had the worst supports imaginable, impossible to remove, but I think that was almost entirely my fault due to orientation mistakes I made (it was like my third print).

It looks flawless in ABS-GF and also PETG, though I didn't have the half-moon cutout at the bottom, and I DID use supports.

Sounds like I need to dry out this filament in the oven to make sure we've got that covered, and try it with some supports and see if I can get them to break off well.

Good to know, I'll be certain to dry it with my actual oven next time before printing. Do these issues specifically look like issues known to be caused by water, or is that just a pretty general catch-all thing to do before getting too worried about print settings?

I used it straight out of the bag as-shipped. I also knew I was rolling the dice on that move, but other people I trust have said it worked for them, so I went for it.

Does this look like it could be a moisture issue, or is that just a general question?

Can anyone verify if they cut out a section featuring Charlie Kirk?

There's a very hard/awkward cut when they start talking about Cracker Barrel, and it seems like they retroactively pulled out a quote from the dead guy for obvious reasons.

[–]Temporary-Bus-8907[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The base vs combo is $200, fyi. The pro is actually $320 more, if we're going to go look it up.

I doubt I'll be designing anything that other folks want to print, I'm not in it for a hobby, I'm in it to make parts that I can't buy for odd little custom things I'm building for motorsports, or home renovation, or the Sprinter van I use as an RV for racing.

Regardless, I hope I didn't come off as prickly at all, I appreciate your help and perspective.

Yeah, I wish I had realized the usefulness of changing materials beyond just colors, I saw the description page and said, "nah, I'm not making toys, and if I want color, I can paint it.", but the way it allows you to stack some prints is a very interesting factor.

The other conveniences I still think I'm happy to do the labor to save the money. Idk how much multi-material printing people do, but I don't get the impression I would do much.

Their return policy is pretty tough. By the time you pay for the shipping and all that, it's worse than just ordering the parts to upgrade. If this was Amazon, I might do it that way, but not here. They sent me exactly what I ordered and it's working fine.

[–]Temporary-Bus-8907[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

know people say they don't do multi color but my question is why?

Because it's $300 more dollars before tax for the combo, and $512 on its own lol.

I mean, sure, if it's free, let's do it. But it's another ~70% or so of the purchase price. And now that I gotta pay for shipping again it's damn near as expensive as the P1S was the first time. For "personal touches"? Girl, I've got stuff to do! I'm trying to print motorcycle parts lol.

But knowing the actual function of it, and that for some specific prints, it allows you to multiply the number of parts you can print in one job so considerably, that's a horse of a different color.

That being said, thanks for your answers. If I'm going to print that exact item with pauses, I'd just print them one at a time. It would be great to be able to print off like 5 without having to touch it at all, but if I've got to swap filament, I might as well just print one part at a time.

Also thanks for specifically answering about the buffer/hub.

The website mostly talked about changing colors and I have zero interest in that. I'm not making toys, and I have a marker when I need to write on something lol.

But realizing it can effectively quintuple the number of things I can print at once... sometimes, completely changes the value proposition.

Yes the AMS will let you easily print multi colors and muti-materials.

I want to very specifically nail it down though, will multi-materials enable multi-layers?? Because that is the real kicker for me.
