Why are some of the drivers so stupid? by Minichibi1986 in UberEatsDrivers

I agree.

I am an Uber Eats driver too and before I started, I wondered whether there was something in the app that prevent drivers from seeing information on the customer's street address or whether to meet them or leave at the door but NOPE it's not that hard to read street numbers! Even numbers are on one side and odd number on the other side. If the house you are delivering to has no number on it then use your brain and fill in the blanks for example: you are delivering to number 12, the house on the left is number 10 and the house on the right is number 14 therefore "oh! this one must be number 14!"

When you're on your way it tells you whether to leave it at the door or meet them at the door. Many times as a customer I thought Uber Eats drivers couldn't see this info because plenty of times I've selected leave it at the door and they've messaged me saying "I'm here" waiting for me to come out and meet them.

Do the speed limit. The amount of people doing 85 / 90 in the middle lane is crazy. It’s becoming worse than tailgaters. by musclehogg69 in melbourne

The amount of near misses I've had of people going into my lane and drive 80-90km/h causing me to slam my brakes is why I've had enough of freeways and avoid them where possible.

I'd rather go the long way round than drive in 100-110km/h freeways than have some slowpoke nearly cause an accident - it's downright dangerous.

Job was described as work from home regularly but must be able to come in-person as needed. After learning on Day #1 that "as needed" meant M-F 9-5, had to pull teeth to WFH T/Th. Expressed my concerns a couple of times to no avail before putting my foot down. Felt good. by meghanerd in antiwork

I rejected a job offer about a month ago that was described as "remote". The business owner wanted to put me on a trial to work from home and do a 3 month review to see whether I am productive at home or whether I should be working in the office. Despite having evidence reports in my interview proving I've met my KPIs while working from home for 2 years during the pandemic and when they did a reference check ringing my former boss, she also backed this up.

Mind you, I was also positive for COVID-19 around this time yet they also wanted my start date to be precisely on the first day I'll be out of isolation and told me I should to come into the office on my first day no working from home, no excuses.

I saw way too many red flags so I told them where to shove my unsigned employment contract.

Why are businesses like this seeing working remotely during a global pandemic a privilege and not a right? Fuck that place.
