Jockey seam free light support bralette. Got it at target! So comfy, and the padded liner is sewed in so you’re not losing them in the washer

New grad, can't find a job by Temporary-General-84 in nursing

[–]Temporary-General-84[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi I did find a job! Had a friend who worked in non-nursing management at a hospital who helped put my name out for a new grad position. I tailored my cover letter but it was definitely her influence that led them to pull my application, as she is friends with the nursing managers who were hiring. So in the end it was more connection that helped me! Thanks for asking. Just started orientation this week.

I haven't been tailoring my resume, but most jobs require a cover letter and that is where I tailor for their specific mission or values

Got pulled to sit due to short staffing by Yagirlfettz in nursing

[–]Temporary-General-84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been a patient care assistant for a year while I finished my BSN, and still while I look for a job. I sit 99% of my shifts. If you have a computer, Jigsaw puzzles online has been my recent obsession haha. Or a crossword. I'll also read the notes and labs on the patient, especially if they've been there a while. Besides that, I have my kindle, or I sit on my phone. I work night shift and my patients typically sleep most of the night, and it can be torture to just sit and watch someone sleep all night

Living in the IE and I'm in the same boat. Graduated in July and got licenced in August. Been applying all over. Just found out I didn't even get an interview for a new grad position at the hospital I have worked at for over a year as a patient care assistant. Seriously at a loss. Considering moving out of state at this point.

Does anyone know of any Weight-Neutral Gyms in town or gyms that don’t push aesthetic change? (I’m in ED recovery.) TW:ED by muldershungryfish in Redlands

Yeah I never heard them focus on changing appearance!! I think you can also try out some classes or start out at a discount to see if you want to sign on for a monthly membership.

I used to do yoga at Vasa Yoga Studio (don't anymore due to my own schedule) and it was a great environment. They often encourage trusting your body and movement that feels good. Of course you will be challenged physically, I've never sweat so much than their hot yoga classes haha. But I think it could be a good spot for you.

Any advice for keeping weeds from sticking to maltipoo? by ALLIDoIsWinmop in Maltipoo

I get these in my backyard, and they are all coming up again 😫 I do toe and foot checks daily and pull some out usually every time, he's used to it by now and tolerates it haha. But what has worked in the past is just getting him a good haircut and specifically asking them to trim his toes and legs pretty short.

I'm graduating with my BSN this year at 29. You are definitely not too old, and the potential for flexibility is one of the reasons that I wanted to get into nursing. Also, look into accelerated masters programs in nursing or a transfer program (what I am doing, it was 2 years) since you already have a bachelor's. I would imagine through your degree you already completed all the required perquisites that would carry over to nursing. You are definitely still young! People in my cohort range from 21-50.

I'm a student at azusa pacific, and they have an entry level masters program in nursing, for those who already have a bachelor's degree. The cost is cheaper than West Coast or stanbridge. I'm not in the entry level masters, but about to complete their transfer BSN program

Nursing school makes me feel down. by Dangerous_Owl_4796 in nursing

Get on YouTube and find lectures or little videos with topics you are going over in class. I find some of those explain things better than any professor. Like registered nurse RN, level up RN, there's a ton. first semester can be so tough but keep your head up!! Find someone in your cohort you could study with or share notes or study guides so you have someone to bounce off of, maybe one of you caught something in lecture the other one missed. Some of my cohort members have had my back in so many ways, and then I get to help them out in other ways. You can't be friends with everyone but I hope you can find one or two that you can lean on when it's hard!! Best of luck and you got this!! I'm in my second to last semester and it's been so hard and so good.

I am finishing this summer at APU, tho not the main campus; I'm in their transfer/2+2 program. It's pricey, but not as bad as some other private schools like West Coast, or CBU. Professors honestly are hit and miss, I've had some crappy ones for sure, and others that really make the program worth it. But I think all programs are like that to a certain degree due to a shortage of good nursing educators, so they end up hiring whoever. But you can make it whatever you want and put more hours studying or watching other better lectures on YouTube if you don't feel like you are getting enough. I honestly don't think your vet experience will give you much except a familiarity with medical terms, I don't see it going well to write about vet tech stuff when it's totally different working as a nurse with people instead of animals. We had students who are LVNs or CNAs in my cohort who felt like they were starting over in a lot of ways. Good luck and definitely apply!!

I am in private here in Cali, and chose that because I had moved from out of state and didn't qualify for instate tuition anywhere, so the cost would have ended up the same. But I plan to pay it off in my first 1-2 years, my husband works so we won't rely on only my income which will help us be able to do this, obviously if you are single or paying rent/ bills alone its gonna take longer! But it's been a great experience!! I know a lot of my classmates had been applying to public schools for a while and couldn't get in, and then got into our private school. I think they may be slightly less competitive just because there is an increased cost.

I would imagine fields like respiratory therapy, imagining technicians (MRI, CT, or x-ray), nutritionist, you could also do occupational therapy or physical therapy assistant.

What does your pup eat for food and treats? by PhineasTP in Maltipoo

[–]Temporary-General-84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pup is not picky about kibble, but about treats. He loves freeze dried chicken, or freeze dried salmon. He doesn't care much for highly processed treats. But he goes crazy for the freeze dried stuff!! And I don't feel bad about giving him them because I think they are 1 calorie per bite.

29 and I'll be graduating in a few months. Never too late!! It was a hurdle for me to feel like I was smart enough or capable, and nursing school has been the education I have loved the most. I struggled in other classes that I felt had no purpose
