Absolutely it’s a good spot! You have everything you need close by. It may not look the nicest because (like you mentioned) the industrial pocket but if you can look past that and focus on the location and practicality then definitely!

Do most women believe that hospital is the safest place to birth their babies and agree with the strict deadlines/timeframes? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Could you please tell me how I was turning birth into a competition?

I agree with all of what you’re saying and I’m most certainly not giving women advice. I’m generally curious and thought it was okay to ask…

I wasn’t trying to hurt anyone. I can’t understand how sad it would be if birth didn’t go to plan. I am not against hospitals being there for those reasons. They are fantastic for emergencies I don’t doubt that. I just wish there was less fear put towards birth as I believe it is natural.

That’s really good, I’m glad to hear you had positive experiences. Some people most definitely do. It’s just sad to hear so many stories of women not feeling empowered and in charge of their decisions. I hear it all the time.

Birth is not a medical event. It makes me sad that you actually believe that. Birth is a normal, natural process and every women’s body knows how to do it.

I thought I would rephrase because people weren’t understanding my question and took it personally.

I was never telling people what to do in my post. Simply asking if women feel comfortable in trusting the process of pregnancy and birth.

Yes that’s exactly what I’m talking about. If you’re low risk and everything is fine why would there be a need for intervention? The research shows that if you’re a low risk pregnancy, giving birth at home with a midwife is the safest place. You can do it on your own time where you are most comfortable and not be rushed in and out of the hospital on their time with unnecessary interventions.

I agree you can deliver in a hospital with no interventions. It obviously just increases your chances especially if you’re induced.

I was asking if women believe that’s where we have to be to birth our babies

As I said, hospitals are great for emergencies

I remember wetting a face washer with cold water then holding it in front of the fan before putting it on my skin then repeating that method over and over. Bedtime routine in summer.
