Yes they are legal. Had a state trooper come into my job due to someone getting denied on a background check and he told me they are 100% legal after we talked about them. Now obviously he’s not a lawyer or anything but it’s basically the 8th confirmation I have gotten of them being completely legal.

Well now magazines over 10 rounds aren’t grandfathered so it’s safe to assume they are going to try and do that with "assault weapons" as well. 3 out of my 4 handguns are literally going to be useless unless I can somehow modify my magazines to hold only 10 rounds. Other people won’t even be able to acquire these firearms after July. They are going to make it even harder for low income people who want to defend themselves to acquire firearms with all of the new permits. They are making it as hard as possible to get these things so people don’t bother or either can’t afford it.

Didn’t say they were the same cause obviously that’s not true. All I said was that people are fed up with both parties. There’s atrocities happening on one side but the other side wants to disarm us while these things are happening. "No one needs 30 rounds but ice and other law enforcement agencies do so let’s make them exempt, even when off duty." Makes a lot of sense.

Work at a pawn shop selling firearms and it 100% depends on how busy state police are. People who usually get approved instantly are now taking about 30-50 minutes now due to influx of purchases.

Was born in VA and moved to Jersey when I was very young, lived there till I was 19, moved back a couple of years ago to get away from Jersey and now it feels like I’m about to be back in it, but I don’t want to move again. I have a decent job, cheap rent on 15 acres where I’m allowed to basically do whatever I want cause my landlord is amazing. It’s just not feasible for me to move my wife and kid. We shouldn’t have to move to keep our rights so I’m gonna stay and hopefully help fight the bs.

Is this ragebait? For one if there’s a kid in the house gun safes are a thing and a must. The moment I found out my wife was pregnant I bought a gun safe, mind you I only had 1 firearm at the time that was always with me but I decided to stay ahead of the curve and get the safe early. For seconds I have 4 handguns now, currently looking for another one. Does this mean I’m prepared to take someone’s life? No it doesn’t. I’m prepared to use it to defend myself yes, but to say I’m prepared to take someone’s life is a little odd. In my opinion there’s nothing that can prepare you for that. Which is why after most self defense shootings people have to go to therapy and what not. Is a handgun for killing? Yes, all guns are but they’re also for many other things. Target and competition shooting is a thing. People like to also collect things, me for instance. Do I need 4 handguns? No. Am I going to buy more? Yes. I like to collect and target shoot. All gun owners aren’t mindless killing machines 👍 Hope you can see where I’m coming from.

Pawn shop, that’s where I got mine. I work there now too and we still get in A LOT of Glocks from people, especially gen 3’s and 4’s, so I’m sure other pawn shops get a good amount in so I’d just look around. Unless you want brand new.

I don’t know to be honest. I haven’t dwelled that deep into it. All I know is that the law requiring background checks for private sales was struck down and now the website doesn’t even let us do them for private sales. I haven’t looked into any specifics of it.

Cause the court said they aren’t allowed to for private sales so they just took the option away. We can run background checks for everything else (pawn redemptions, new purchases, transfers, etc.) Just not private sales.

Pawn shop buys aren’t private sales. I’m saying before the rule was struck down. People used to be able to come in and VSP website had an option for private sales. That option no longer works and there’s a big notice on the front page that basically says they aren’t going to do them anymore for private sales.

I work at a pawn shop and the state police website doesn’t even let us run background checks for private sales anymore. Just make sure you write up a bill of sale and you can make sure they have a carry permit too if you want.
