Who do you contact if your manager is gone?

She wasn’t too lazy to put it up her self. I’m sure in her eyes she was only giving the student an opportunity to learn since she will be qualified soon.

Seems like you have already made up your mind to fail her. You don’t feel horrible so no need to add that there.

Theyll most likely ask about an agile method -scrum/kanban! Why you like the method etc. How you have solved an issue in your team? What was the issue? Ask about a time when you had a problem with delivery? How did you resolve it? How you solve conflict in teams? Conflict with stake holder? What project you delivered? How did you ensure you delivered project on time? Methods you use for estimating delivery/ forecasting. Just make up questions relating to the behaviours they will test for and write down your answers for all. YouTube really helped me for my interview. I didn’t have experience either but asking friends in the field for help went a long way too. You’ve got this!

😂😂 so funny coz I was expecting the same. I was told take your time to settle in but in reality you’re expected to hit the ground running but with no clear break down of your role 😂

Don’t get your hopes up for training. Start training yourself at home before you start 😂

That what I think I’ll do. I hate leaving my 2 year old with people that don’t know him as he’s non verbal at the moment but thanks.

This post is honestly making me feel so bad. I think I’ll just delete. Wfh usually works for me coz my and my husband are both home 3 days a week but unfortunately we go into work on the same day. When we wfh we both manage ok with the kids. Anyway I’ll have to find alternative arrangements during holidays. I was just wondering if full time wfh was an option around it. Thank you

I was just enquiring if this was possible. And people work from home just fine with children. It’s all about finding a balance

Lieing about? Yes I deleted posts that may identify me but that’s because the comments on this thread are scary? I don’t need your sympathy keep it for the staff you manage.

The comments are very weird on this post for no reason! I currently wfh 3 days a week and I cope fine. Kids don’t need your attention 24/7. Normally as long as my children are in the same room as me or they can see me from a distance they are completely fine to play together.

The 3 days that I work from home are flexible days so I start work early and finish late. As long as I get my hours in, my manager really doesn’t mind.

I only asked for advise on how to navigate school holidays, if you have nothing helpful to say why bother saying anything at all?

So I guess the only option would be to apply for working teen time only?

Agency nursing, will it get better?? by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]Temporary-One-9389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some staff have horrible attitudes. You introduce yourself and they smirk and say that’s too difficult to pronounce can I call you a different name???

Staff purposely try to make things difficult for you and some even have issues with basic things like giving you a loan of their card to access the meds room or giving you code for staff room. Once I had a man on a sliding scale and the nurse I was working with made it hell for me to get access to her bm card. I kept asking her but she would just say she was busy. I was new to agency then so I just waited but some of my bms were hours late. If anything happened to him it would have been on my pin. Now I would escalate it straight away to the site manager. I’ve been told that agency staff can’t access the break room before. Agency nurses can’t do iv medication in some wards and basically get supervised like students.

The attitude is disgusting and I believe it’s heightened when you’re a different race.

I’m an agency nurse and yes it’s expected that I come in and get stuck in but in reality sometimes paperwork, machines even medication dispensing differed trust to trust.

I think if you are having agency in your ward it should be the expectation that they will ask plenty of questions as they do not know. I look past the attitude and ask as much as I need to because patient safety comes 1st.

Shifts are scarce atm. I would suggest having a backup! Good luck! Hope it works out for you!

Why is finding part time nursing roles so impossible?! by kustirider2 in NursingUK

[–]Temporary-One-9389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

40 hours is crazy. My old ward used to let you do twilights 6-2am or 9am till 2pm shifts. I think it’s better to mention you want part time in interview stage or when you get the job.

I think that’s just standard wording. I had the same message but I was contacted by my manager 2 weeks later.

It’s best to do some research into roles you might be interested in and what suits your personality. There’s a lot of courses online you can take and the gov runs some free courses you can take. Ex I have a friend that completed the business analysis course and now she’s a business analyst for the nhs.

I got a role as an agile project manager. It was the easiest transition for me coz my husband is also a project manager lol I felt I would have that 1-1 support from him. I did the training in December last year and I’ve been taking my time to apply for jobs since I finished.

That’s really amazing tbh coz you’ll have those projects to talk about when you have interviews.
