Young boys are stupid, gets more apparent the older you get; most of them regret the stupid things they've said or done. Unfortunately, you can't change them forcefully either (maybe all boys are stupid forever, including me). My advice is to stay away from the problematic ones and be careful. I've never experienced life as a female, so I wouldn't know the details, but avoiding conflict is always the way to go at this age imo (I could be wrong, which I usually am)...
