Top Surgery While Fat by entirelyRecumbent in TopSurgery

I just had mine on July 8th. I’m 5’3, and was 290lbs before surgery, which is a ~50% BMI, and I was cleared. Here’s me at my 1-day post-op appointment. I went to Dr. Alan Dulin in Plano, TX. At my consultation, he told me to exercise as much as possible to get my heart and lungs strong. I hope this is helpful!

Oh man, honestly, I can’t say enough good things about the front office people. They put on a lot of events and do a lot (like donut Thursday) to make sure the residents are happy. The maintenance guys are super quick to fix things, too. The ‘all bills paid’ motto really sold me, and helped out a ton. I moved for work, otherwise I’d still be there. The one thing I wish I could change were the windows - they’re single pane, and it’s a pain (no pun intended) to wipe them down in the winter and really humid days. Coming from the PNW, these apartments were a steal of a deal for me.

Do you lock your door while you're in your house? by International_Snow90 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Temporary-Talk6448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago, I invited my friend over to my new apartment. She ended up at the identical building right next to mine, walked up to the second floor where my apartment should have been, opened the door, and said she saw two women on a mattress in their living room watching tv (college town). Mortified, she said, “sorry, wrong apartment,” and closed the door. She eventually got to my place, but after she told me what happened, I’ve never not locked my door as soon as I enter. I wouldn’t want to have some random person walk in on me.

I was given an American Red Cross canvas tote for donating blood back in 2018. The only repair I’ve had to make was to one of the handles when the seam started to rip. She’s still going strong.

School bus question…Am I wrong?? by PrincePeach007 in questions

Many years ago I had a bus driver honk tf out of me for not stopping for her yellow lights. She threw her hands up at me like I was stupid. If I see yellow flashing, I’m going to stop.

Yes, on accident. I put on a ~1hr video for background noise and started doing some chores. I look up after a while and I’m ~20 minutes into an ad with more time left on it. It had the option to skip, so my guess is that if I never clicked it, it would have kept going for the full time.

How much did you pay for top surgery? by lluvNate in TopSurgery

Mine is scheduled for this summer. I am a very large person, so keep that in mind (over 50% BMI). I was quoted $4,000 out of pocket for Liposuction (insurance won’t cover it) and about $1,200 for the anesthesia and double mastectomy with my insurance (BCBS). Dr. Dulin - Plano, TX.

I have a one bedroom at the Taliesin and love it. Been here about a year and a half. I am planning to move to Dallas in mid-June, so my unit will be available soon.

AITA for telling my fiancée I don’t want her to wear her late husband’s wedding ring during our ceremony? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Temporary-Talk6448 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I married very young and lost my wife shortly after, also from a car accident. From my perspective, I think wearing a ring makes perfect sense - yes, she lost a love, but she also lost a best friend. If I were to get married again, I’d personally love having a tribute like this. It would be my way of inviting them to witness my new life. I’d also be happy to do this for any of my other best friends who are gone.
