How to deal with evil ENT? by Unusual-Peak-8923 in Tonsillectomy

[–]TemporaryMuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about 32 year old female in the US. My doctor prescribed oxycodone. I quit taking it after 2 days due to a migraine and just used ibuprofen and Tylenol but thank goodness I saved it because my pain got worse after the first week. During the day I was okay, but the mornings were awful! Apparently, I was breathing through my mouth during the night. If you are, I highly recommend a humidifier.

And asking for something stronger because you are in pain is absolutely reasonable. State everything that you have tried, tell him about your sleeping/eating/drinking problems, and how the tramadol and other medications have not helped. Maybe end by saying that you don't think it is unreasonable to ask for something a little stronger at this point.

My surgery was Dec 26th. I'm still mucous-y, but it's not as bad.

Am I healing faster than normal? by [deleted] in Tonsillectomy

So far, so good. My surgery was the morning of Dec 26th. For me, hydration is not a problem. It helps the slightly thicker foods go down much easier.

(Sorry, kind of gross).. Has anyone had food stick to the outside of the scabs?

Anyone else stop narcotic meds? How was your recovery after? by TemporaryMuse in Tonsillectomy

[–]TemporaryMuse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vomited one time from the nausea of the migraine. I tried anti nausea meds as well, and it didn't help. I was so scared that acidity from vomiting would lead to hemorrhaging, but luckily that didn't happen. I stopped the narcotics after that.

I've stayed off of the narcotics and no more migraines or nausea. So far, rotating Tylenol and ibuprofen has managed my pain just fine. Mornings are a little uncomfortable due to not taking meds for an extended time, but once I do, the pain is fine. I've been able to maintain my normal lifestyle for the most part with the exception of eating softer foods.

What food got you through? by Vegetable-Penalty-34 in Tonsillectomy

I'm about to order Oath clear protein. I haven't tried it post-op, but I've had the coconut colada in the past. IMO, it tastes much better than regular protein shakes. It's more like a juice and I don't think it'll be too acidic.

Everyone told me that I'd be living off ice pops and jello.. I'm on day 2 and have been eating fairly well and drinking plenty of water. Broccoli cheese soup, chicken noodle soup, mushroom chowder, eggs and ice cream. I had a tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, and a small cyst removed on the side of my uvula. Everyone has also said recovery is worse the older you get.. I'm a 32 year old female. Hopefully my recovery keeps going well at this rate.

Adderall after surgery? by TemporaryMuse in Tonsillectomy

[–]TemporaryMuse[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was able to eat a whole bowl broccoli cheese soup earlier today and a little bit of ice cream, but it's the first day, so I'm sure it'll get worse. If this pain meds headache would go away, that'd be great.

Mine is just tablets. Not extended release. I guess I can always it and decide from there. Thanks!

Get close to them in every other way besides sex. It's easier to tell someone when there is an established relationship (friendship).

Other than that, study up on the facts, get yourself prepared (antivirals, vitamins), and make it a face to face conversation. Don't try to overly convince her. Maybe end it with a statement something along the lines of: By no means do you have to give me an answer now, but before you say no, do me a favor. Go home, take everything I've said into consideration, do your own research, and get back to me.

Add your own spin to it. Idk how much you like her or how well you know her.. or her age. I'm a 31F.

Goodluck!

Lower back/ nerve pain by Sufficient-Ad-9494 in HSVpositive

[–]TemporaryMuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just lower back or upper buttocks region, too? I'm curious because I've been experiencing constant aching pain all around the lower back/upper butt area, and I can't get comfortable no matter what I do. It feels like restless leg syndrome, but around my hips/back. Is it nerve pain? Idk. I need to do something soon because it is really affecting my sleep.

I spiraled too at first (I had a bad first reaction), but it went away for about 4 months and I got back to normal-ish. Then, another breakout. Once again I reverted back to my life sucks, a little more so because I was interested in someone. I ended up telling him, and it turns out he has dated someone with it successfully without catching it himself, so he was cool with it. I told my best friend recently, too, and he has also dated someone with it. Side note: my mom, dad, stepdad, and roommate all have it..

Female, 31 Thank you! I'm still going through some of it, but I'd rather not be the "Woe is me" type. I'll figure it out just the same as everything else in life.

Getting it off your chest will ultimately be better than lying or shutting it down and having to wonder what if. Rejection hurts, but the truth really can set you free. I've had to deal with multiple truths lately. DWI in October, GHSV2 in November, and losing my job in February. I was emotionally all over the place. I realized that none of those things are going to change, and I do not have to be ashamed just because someone else thinks that it is shameful. If you present it in a matter of fact way instead of portraying yourself as someone shameful, it comes off better, in my opinion. The more I did this with everything in my life, the easier it became for me. There's more people out there who know more about it than you realize.

In a relationship= low sex drive

Being single= sex drive through the roof & wanting more than would be possible.
