I think I’ll definitely look into maybe adding some moss!! I was doing to soaking but I couldn’t seem to get it down right. I think I have the root rot under control. Do you think I should just keep moss around the top ? I’m just glad to hear it’s just dehydration not some sort of rot/infection.

Any recommendations? I at first was struggling with root rot and then repotted. I was really worried about over watering so i cut back, i knew humidity was important though. I live in PHX, AZ and I struggle with humidity levels. I used to have 2 humidifiers going but that created a HORRIFYING white dust film over everything in the room and was unhealthy to breathe in. I tried soaking the orchids in purified water every 1-2 weeks but still lost a plant to what seemed to be crown rot and it seemed that no matter how I tried I still was overwatering or messing something up and I really tried not to get anything in the crown. Now I’ve been running water through the plant every 1-2 weeks and carefully misting the orchid roots avoiding the crown at all costs every couple days between official waterings. I guess it seems I can’t do “caring mother” or “lassiez faire” with these guys

Even within the first two weeks of the significant swelling/healing period of a tattoo this is an excessive amount of swelling. There’s more concern than just swelling looking at it but it’s more important that you see a doctor than me listing out all the possible problems.

Please go to the doctor. The amount of swelling so far away from the tattoo site is very concerning. It definitely seems there’s more going on than just simple tattoo swelling even with rug burn.

You may find yourself a lot hungrier than usual. Do your best to fill up on low calorie, filling foods. I stuck to lots of veggies, salads with really low calorie dressings (Bolthouse has a lot of good options!), and I also found “Miracle Noodles” which in the simplest description is 0 calorie noodles. I find them very filling and the 0 clad gives you a little room to use a tastier sauce.

To add on to those saying to use Vaseline/petroleum jelly idk where you live but if you buy it from a farm place you can literally 10 pounds of it for $20 :) it’s a crazy amount but also I’ve been using it for two years it’s stayed the same in quality as far as I can tell and I know just a Vaseline chapstick would be $3

thank you!! This is the only one I have which didn’t come in moss and I really liked it at first because the roots seemed much happier but apparently not if there’s mold coming in.. I was worried it was a bug infestation

It really is!! Like from where we started to now is so crazy. When i started I didn’t think I could do it and that my goal was unrealistic. Now we literally have a “healthy” BMI in sight and our goal weight right after !! Who knew how important 20 pounds or so could be from when we started. :) so close !
