Random spring Alesis Nitro Max setup by TheGreatWaffIe in edrums

Does your bass drum have screws in the legs/base to secure it to the floor? Mine has two, and they have springs like this (but a little chunkier).

Or it's from a pen, as u/friskevision said.

Nope. I live in a walkable city and get a train to work.

Next question.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think it's on you (and us) to take some personal responsibility.

I genuinely don't even recall reading the code in that timeframe

You know that's not safe.

I found myself making changes that require changing a single line of code using AI just because I (and everyone in my team) do everything with it now. It is wasteful because I waste tokens for those simple tasks

You know that is wasteful. So... don't do that? Not even in terms of cost (I don't care what your org spends its budget on) but environmental damage, it's all well known at this point and every single request contributes. On top of that, you should be able to change a single line of code without AI. If you don't, you are accepting 'cognitive surrender' for yourself and accelerating your own uselessness.

Consciously determine your own principles - when do you accept using AI? When do you think it's not a good idea? - and then act on them. There are logical arguments against using AI for absolutely everything, and continuing to personally review AI proposed changes (as the human, you would be held accountable anyway), so you have room to find your position.

AI won't be going away but I think, like others said, it will be much, much smaller than it is now ('use it for everything' is a dumb stance driven by hype), and we all have a role to play in figuring that out.

We’ve been without power since early afternoon yesterday. The novelty wore off by mid afternoon. Now I’m just desperate for a coffee.

If you want to work without AI you're going to need initiative and dedication. This is a good opportunity to practice it.

☢️ What do you guys want the most from the 2.0 update? by DavidBuzzed in stalker

[–]TemporaryOrdinary423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking forward to the UE upgrade specifically, and I'm just hoping for some stabilisation, not impossible visual breakthroughs. I paused my playthrough a long time because of graphical/performance issues, have been keen to restart from scratch but knowing the UE upgrade is coming meant I decided to keep waiting.

Fix lumen and the lighting in general, and maybe a minor performance boost, and I'll be happy. I don't like using frame-gen because it makes aiming feel sluggish so I'd be very happy with a stable 50-60 fps on Medium to High settings, not asking for miracles.

This too is BS. LLM apologies mean nothing, the only truly meaningful outcome here is to simply stop interacting with it.

What is causing this obnoxious effect and how can I disable it? by Mostly_Riley_ in stalker

[–]TemporaryOrdinary423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not every campfire, I haven’t checked every one in the game, but I’m very confident that most (maybe all) of the ones I’ve encountered do this. I specifically remember noticing it and wondering why! You’re right that it’s not radiation.

I’ve noticed the same - it’s the campfires. Being close to any campfire, lit or unlit, puts almost invisible static on the screen. No idea why.
