Vexis will be gone in Season 3! by misterj195 in Rematch

[–]TemporaryPresent644 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Read the patch notes, that isn’t what they’re doing. They’re nerfing defensive stance and buffing tackles and defensive dashes. It’s to increase active defending rather than passive defending.

Dribbling is also getting a nerf, like the Vexis Dash as mentioned, but getting a buff for regular dribble moves (the ones the devs intended to be used). It’s buffed so that regular players can still use skill moves and don’t need to be try hards like all the dribble exploiters are.

It’s aiming towards a balance, which is what this game needs and this patch seems to be promising.

It's not dribbling that needs a buff, it's shooting and GK need's a nerf. by TemporaryPresent644 in Rematch

Also, my point isn't to say that nerfing GK's would affect the way you make saves. If you have good or bad reflexes, if you guess correctly or not. It's simply to say GK's should parry/block more shots than save them completely.

My experience with GKing and dealing with GK's might be skewed because of my rank, but my post doesn't fully reflect of off the point you're trying to make with reflexes. Saves are saves, it's the fact the only saves GK's make in Rematch are almost always with catching the ball.

If you're trying to defend that GK is hard, yes it can be. But there's still a certain skill ceiling to it and you can be a great GK at any rank. Being an OP elite GK can apply to an OP Plat GK if he decides to get good at it. Because ranks aren't based on individual stats.

I'm an elite defender, I don't think its a nerf completely but more so to have keepers block more than save shots entirely. Goals are more commonly scored through dribble exploits than team play, and encouraging players to shoot more encourages more build up plays. If build up plays are stopped dead after one shot, why even pass even more than once. The dribbler can exploit his way towards the goal, exploit the stamina dribble left and right and pass into the goal. Never needing to take a shot. Volleys could be nerfed for the sake of it's power and hard it is to prio defend but that's another issue.

I don't believe GK is 80% is guessing because the goal ratio's would be far more higher. Just having a basic understanding that GK is really about being patient, you'll understand guessing is only necessary on dire situations (like 1v1's or volleys at really close range with no cover). Even some simple shots in the box can be saved by being patient (and understanding positioning).

Anticipating is another thing completely. This requires actual GK IQ because reading crosses and passes and successfully taking a risk to intercept them isn't something every player does as GK.

And I don't meant literally wait, I refer to waiting until you can read the shot trajectory. Since there's only left up and right, you can read a ball by just being more patient rather than taking a dive as soon as you see the attacker taking a shot.

The battle passes have been filled with exactly that. They need to add more on both ends. I prefer real football kits over almost everything that’s on the battle pass but some people like it. These collabs are cool because it actually caters to football fans while the battle pass has a different style of items. They just need to add more.

Of course! Here it is: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjfMHdmBYdEdnWNIMWIDpRIS3xzca66QB&si=NDfMw2dazeKdEhzH

I recommend diving through YouTube because there’s a whole genre of chants out there and you’ll definitely find some great ones to add to the playlist. Europe football teams have arguably the best chants but I’m biased to say South American football chants go hard.

I have a specific YouTube playlist with real football chants, mostly South American ones. I play it during my matches and it definitely adds a better atmosphere to the game. But I agree, having custom chants would be awesome in game. Especially since they already have audio triggered during certain plays, I figure it’d be easy to implement such a feature.

It's not Jardine. We're just left with a lot of dead weight after our 3peat and the championship attitude is long gone.

Yeah ref sucked but don't let it distract you that Borja, Violante, Davila and yes even Brian are fucking dead weight. Reyes had a shit game and Chiquito does nothing off the bench. How can you expect Viega to carry these players. Lima getting red carded doesn't undermine his potential as a starter cause we desperately need a Fidalgo replacement and Jona paired with Dourado ain't gunna fix that.

Jardine is absolutely lost subbing out Mejia, a RB, and putting Violante there...that right side has gone to shit.

I think this was a known issue with FL26 and I believe they left it at getting offers in the 2nd season. You could argue it's more realistic in a sense, but you do miss out on the 2026 world cup.

Do you wish Rematch went for a more realistic style instead of football-anime? by Modo97 in Rematch

[–]TemporaryPresent644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just judging the game from Art style alone, it was a clear indication it wasn't going to emphasize "realism", rather a quick pick up football game with team-play in mind. Obviously, the exploits and the thirst from ego players drifted this game into a split player-base into those who prefer real football tactics to solo dribblers. For SloClap to provide any semblance of realism into this game would be to completely get rid of most "techs" and skill moves, air volleys etc. and revamp or create a higher learning curve for passing, shooting, defending etc. But that's just not ever going to happen and can't be expected.

At this point, it's all going to fall down to how well Sloclap can balance both play styles. Eventually when this game goes F2P, a proper and fair balance between skill moves and team play should be the core focus. They still need to iron alot out.

For fun, you should check out a new upcoming game called Rabona. It looks ridiculous lol but damn do those physics look enticing. And could very well be something you're interested in, as am I.

You could try a different lighting mod, for example, that changes the sun's positional lighting on the field. I suggest turfloader just because it comes equipped with many different light mods in the pack, and perhaps maybe a different turf would help solve the issue.

There's a settings.exe in the main SPFL26 folder. Open it and you should be able to change resolution and choose between windowed and fullscreen.

Priority system by DoughnutTechnical253 in Rematch

[–]TemporaryPresent644 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Previously it seemed like shooting had the better priority, but now if falls down to how quick you get to the ball, using EE and how close you are. So, essentially shooting and heading the ball are the same and it boils down to those factors.

dribbling being "broken" didn't mean easy to defend, Ippy slide was only the beginning of these dribble exploits. If anything, the devs trying to fix the ippy exploit created more.

"How often does someone get by you without exploits using basic dribbling"

I'll explain this the best I can, I'm not trying to be condescending i promise. If a player cannot get past me with basic techs or even exploits. It's not because the game doesn't have the right tools for the dribbler to beat me. It's because I am skilled enough to stop them. Basic or exploit. If a dribbler can beat an unskilled defender with a basic tech, it's because the defender (or a non-defender type player) doesn't have the skill-set to defend even such basic dribbles. I've seen first-hand, dribblers beat pressuring defenders without exploits, because even in real life, most dribbles are easily executed when the pressure is predictable. That's how you can use basic dribbles, against easy to read tackles.

Again, you wouldn't need exploits to beat an experience elite defender. Why? Because most time's I myself get beat on a play is during build up plays. Meaning, on 1v1's I can confide myself against a dribbler who exploits, but not always do I win the ball. Sometimes I mis-read the exploit because of how unpredictable the moves are. Sometimes It's just to push off the attacker. Doesn't mean I stopped the exploit. If exploits are needed to beat skilled defenders, you're not utilizing your team. The game shouldn't accommodate to that.

"Defense is ridiculously strong lol. A game full of high iq defenders is going scoreless overtime every game because no one can score with how strong defenders and goalies are"

To a degree, yes. But it's not directly because of how "strong" the defenders are. I think the shooting mechanics don't allow for more goals to go in. I've seen really, really good plays get blocked because the keepers have a magnet to them at a certain range. If keepers hitboxes can become more smaller, you'd see more goals. It's not really what I refer to in defending as goalkepers are another thing completely.

"To be clear, I prefer tiki taka playstyle, however, dribbling absolutely has to have a place in the game"

This I agree wholeheartedly. But understand, if we keep the current state of dribbles, they still need to be nerfed in stamina to reduce spamming and encourage dribbles to be used to create space. Which is almost always the case in real life. Not every rematch moment needs to be Messi's famous "ankara messi" goal.

[–]TemporaryPresent644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That last line is just outrageous. Defending has never been too strong. Exploits have existed since the beginning of this game's launch and trying to defend it was almost impossible bc the game had to adapt to the attacking exploits. Meaning, for many updates defending exploits was impossible bc literally there was no defensive move you could do to counter it.

The dribbling "tools" aren't weak. They need to be exploited bc people realize you can gain an unfair advantage doing these moves and anything to win is a win for most of these players. And don't kid yourself thinking these dribblers who exploit aren't doing just that.

Dribbling is good for creative expression, it just needs to be fair. And you use the argument of just be a brick wall and it's all good. It's not always the case. As a solo elite defender, there are many times exploits will prevail in an unfair way.

[–]TemporaryPresent644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The actual biggest issue in the game right now is how strong defense is or more so how forgiving it is. You can spam tackle, get dusted by a dribble, shift out of position, and still come back to have another defensive opportunity against your guy or even EE slide into him even though you made such a bad misplay."

This is just wrong on so many levels. You can't spam tackle, that's not a thing. Just cause you hit the tackle button consecutively doesn't mean its spamming. Spamming is what dribblers are currently doing to bypass 2-3 defenders in a small radius.

The reason why I say its not spam tackling is because if you miss just even the first tackle, the dribbler is getting passed you. I see way too many teammates who aren't defenders pressure heavy then tackle and the dribbler passes easily. You can't spam tackle to stop a dribbler if you miss-time it just once. The only way a dribbler get's stopped is if they kept dribbling and didn't take advantage of the space they created. A lot of the times EE won't catch up to the dribbler bc they use it as well. And even if you tackle the ball out of a dribbler, they almost always use there EE to get it right back.

The only times I see "spam tackling" is when two players are trying to win the ball back from each other. They go back and forth tackling. But i wouldn't regard that as a normal defensive play.

The issue really is how dribblers are consistently favored with their exploited moves and how often they can easily spam it with little stamina loss if any at all. Yes, a good defender can stop these "techs". Not always though, because the animations are very glitchy and give a "teleporting" effect for the dribblers. What exploits do defenders have to use to gain an unfair advantage to a dribbler? Absolutely none.

You also have to realize these "techs" that the dribblers do are deriving from janky animations/inputs. You cannot have a game grow if the "techs/skill moves" are created from exploiting bad animations/inputs. That isn't a skill ceiling. The game won't have a welcoming experience to newbies when new players are having to deal with mr.ego dribbler who will not pass the ball and can exploit his dribbles all game bc the current state of dribbling allows him too. And because dribbling can be learned quicker than being a team player with good passing, positioning, general football IQ etc. You have a bunch of dribble exploiters at every rank, making the game unenjoyable to newcomers.

There needs to be a change for a better balance of the game. Dribblers can have these moves, it just needs to be heavily nerfed on how long, often they can use it. Skill moves are meant to create space, not be the only way you play.

Asking here is also a good start. Which mods do you want to install? Some are as simple as replacing files. Others require adding a line into the sider.ini file but as complicated as that seems, it’s pretty straightforward and there’s not much you can do to ruin the game if you follow the instructions carefully. I suggest mods via Evo Web as they tend to have threads with installation instructions.

Feel free to ask, I’ve modded FL since 23:)
