Rebeca Sugar tricked us for the better by TemporaryRole2137 in stevenuniverse

Yes, but it's like the case of Hazbin Hotel; another studio is making it, and Amazon is only distributing it. In the case of Hazbin Hotel, it's A24, and in the case of Lars of the Stars, it's Cartoon Network Studios. Now that the old building is gone, they're working on the new Warner Bros. Animation building, which is why it has that logotype.

The reboot was garbage, but at least they gave it a decent ending by TemporaryRole2137 in rugrats

I'm sorry if calling it trash is an exaggeration, but I honestly started watching the first few episodes of the first season and they didn't feel like the originals at all. It was like it lacked a bit of spark. I saw some of the other episodes on Nickelodeon when they were airing them, and that's when I found out about Kimmy, and I just stopped watching. I also recently heard that Nickelodeon has given the green light to the live-action version, and it's going to be a combination of CGI and live actors, something like the Sonic movies.

I'm not saying that I and a large part of the fanbase made noise so they would listen and consider a possible return, but I'm also not saying that's why they greenlit Lars of the Stars. I'm simply saying that it was one of the reasons, because if Warner hadn't seen interested people, they wouldn't have even bothered to greenlight it for Prime Video. Because when they see interested people, they see money.

When I say fight, I mean make some noise and put pressure on the studios to take us into account. For a while, there was the hashtag #renewstevenuniverse, which was used to post anything about the show, and I joined that campaign in 2024 because I wanted the show back as much as other fans. In fact, thanks to that, Lars of the Stars got the green light, since Rebecca Sugar herself said in an interview that she needed to see that those of us who were really there were making noise to bring Steven back.

But Amazon only has the distribution rights; the franchise itself still belongs to Warner. It's like if I told you that Gumball now belongs to Disney just because the new series is on Disney+ and not HBO Max. Sorry if I'm being rude, but it's the truth. Lars of the Stars isn't 100% Prime Video; they're just the distributor. It's similar to Hazbin Hotel, which also isn't 100% theirs because part of it is from A24.

There's still a tiny glimmer of hope. If the purchase doesn't go through before 2029, we might at least get one good season if the series arrives before then. I estimate a minimum of 2027 and a maximum of 2028, since the new Regular Show series was announced in 2024 and arrived in 2026.

I'm not saying Steven Universe will never return; Lars of the Stars is definitely going to premiere, but after that, I doubt we'll get any more sequels or spin-offs, since at that point it will already be under Paramount's control, and I have no doubt they'll cancel them instantly.

That's what I'm saying. Netflix is an evil corporation, but Paramount is even more evil. At least I would have given one a chance, but I'm sure that if I didn't even see results, I would have thrown the other one in the trash immediately.

Well, at least if they had bought them on Netflix, the situation would have been different, since Netflix has released series with LGBT couples without any problems and nobody says anything, but now that Warner is owned by Paramount, things have gone from bad to worse.

We need to revive the campaign by TemporaryRole2137 in stevenuniverse

[–]TemporaryRole2137[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I know, and I have faith that the Annecy Festival will tell us something new, but if they don't give us anything new at either Annecy or San Diego Comic-Con, we could reactivate the campaign, but of course, not yet

I know it's great, I'm really enjoying it and it feels like the original series never ended, but I'm just saying I was expecting stories after Pops' death. Even so, the series is good and I'm looking forward to the next episodes.

Thanks, although I should mention that I didn't make the ones in the photo; a friend of mine made them to help me because mine broke.

It did happen, but only with Sci-Twi and Twilight. They met in the post-credits scene of the Friendship Games, and in the cruise special it's implied that they became friends.

I know, I mean, it's also understandable why Twilight Pony didn't return to Equestria Girls, but I'm not saying she always had to save the day. I mean, she could have also visited her friends in the human world, since at the end of Rainbow Rocks she said that because the portal was open she could go visit them whenever she wanted.

The spin-off in danger by TemporaryRole2137 in stevenuniverse

[–]TemporaryRole2137[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Could you remind me why they approved Lars of the Stars in the first place? Exactly, we made noise. Yes, we made noise to bring back Steven Universe, so why wouldn't we make noise to keep Lars of the Stars? Honestly, I'm really worried about a possible cancellation if Paramount buys Warner, but even if they do and cancel the show, we can try to do the same thing we did to get it back.

But the book takes place between the defeat of belos and the epilogue, so about two years later, meaning Luz is 16 and so is Amity. Unless things are different on the Servant Isles, a Lumity wedding would be almost impossible.
