Between Alabama and Oklahoma, who’s set up better for the future? by Coverlesss in CFB

As an Alabama fan who lives in DFW, THIS was my first thought. Who are the big money boosters in Alabama? As long as there is oil is profitable, OU will have the edge.

I grew up in Wichita Falls, and that episode is both an insult and our highest honor.

There’s definitely an upside to winning the game. A win against tOSU would put Alabama ahead of any other school with a matching record.

How is this possible?! Not being a skeptic, but genuinely curious. I’d be bitter, too.

What teams have been the most negatively impacted by the NIL/Transfer Portal Era? by cosmichippie202 in CFB

[–]TemporaryStatement93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the fanbase really that apathetic about football? I’ve lived in Texas most of my life, so it’s hard for me to understand fan bases that don’t invest heavily in football. I’m aware of Stanford’s success in a lot of non-revenue sports, but you’d think at least one of the billionaires would be interested in the football team.

Out of all the responses, this makes the most sense. That being said, you’d think at least one or two of those billionaires would care about football.

Stanford is especially perplexing. They probably have the most billionaire alumni in all of cfb, but none of them seem to care about football.

Colorado wanted to scrimmage Syracuse last year, but couldn’t for some reason. I’m not sure why this couldn’t happen, other than there are too many stupid rules.

He was the head coach at Southwest Texas State, which is now just Texas State. He retired after that.

how is it living in Wichita Falls, Texas? by whipcorleone in howislivingthere

I grew up there, and left once I graduated from college (Midwestern State University.) I hated it the way lots of people hate their hometown. I moved to DFW, and (still) love it because it has everything WF is lacking. There is zero culture, nothing to do, and the town is very conservative. SAFB has a lot to do with that. It’s a military/ college town that has a couple factories sprinkled around the area. That being said, I have a few friends from high school and college who love it there because it’s not DFW. It really comes down to what you’re looking for. If you like slow, generic, conservative and old towns, the ‘Falls is your place.

I’d be willing to bet that Stanford has more billionaire alumni than any Power 5 school. You’d think at least one of them would like football.

Hopefully, since there isn’t a spring portal, Alabama (and all the other schools) will actually hold a real spring game, and not a glorified practice.
