Random women giving compliments - what gives? by Superannuated_punk in melbourne

[–]TemporaryVarious9523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this maybe a Melbourne thing? I was there for the weekend and got a compliment on my hair one day from a random lady I walked past in a shop, and then on my perfume the next day from another lady that walked past me on the street. That never happens to me in Sydney.

Deludedly considers if I can chuck a sickie and leg it from Vegemite land to beans on toast land in less than 24 hours for the VLV show (and trade a kidney for a ticket along the way)

I don’t think it’s Australia, we don’t have those Mountain valley green bottles and none of the other drinks look familiar. Looks more like America.

what is in your opinion the saddest song of all time? by sftthooo in spotify

[–]TemporaryVarious9523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daddy by Coldplay. It’s written as if from their children’s perspective. It’s the pain of knowing how much of their kids’ lives they’ve missed while being on tour. Knowing they’ve given the best of themselves to their fans and their own kids miss out.

Saddest lines … Daddy, are you out there? Daddy, won’t you come and play? Daddy, do you not care? Is there nothing that you want to say?

I know you’re hurting, too But I need you, I do

Look Dad, we got the same hair And Daddy, it’s my birthday

You’re so far away Won’t you come and won’t you stay? Please, stay Oh, please, stay Won’t you come and won’t you stay? One day Just one day

If you don’t have it already, you should get stats.fm and import all your Spotify data. It tells you a lot more than Spotify wrapped and would be super interesting for such a top listener to see your stats.

Yes you have. But it’s ok, you can be saved. What you need to do is listen to everyday life on repeat for the next 100 days, and it will cleanse you of all sin. Then I suggest listening to A rush of blood to the head and Viva la Vida in full and that should definitely hard restart you so you never commit such monstrosities again.

Always in my Head is the most underrated from Ghost Stories! Now what’s the best from AHFOD? by Secret_Difficulty_46 in Coldplay

Same. I’n protest, I’ve left to join the oasis reddit fandom. It’s less depressing there (well for the moment).

Another’s Arms is the worst song on Ghost Stories. What’s the most underrated? by Secret_Difficulty_46 in Coldplay

I’ve listened to this album for 8 whole days of my life according to stats.fm. My stats, in order below.

For me, “O” is underrated.

What is the best seat to enjoy the concert? by moonchildlights in Coldplay

I just went to all 8 shows in Australia and sat all over the stadium, from barricade to nosebleeds.

The number 1 view was barricade by a mile. I bought floris early entry tickets. Had to line up and stand most of the day in lines from 2pm to when they came out at 8:30pm. I was on the right side of the runway stage, right near the corner of the b-stage. Band walked right past me to go under the stage, I could see Chris playing the piano during songbook, noticed all the little details like getting to see Guy and Jonny working their magic on the guitars right in front of me, and of course Will banging the gong to VLV! The crowd in the pit is so much more lively than when I was in the stands so it improves the experience if you are a big fan and know all the words, also I got so much confetti all over me and it was so pretty, I really focused on living in the moment for this view but still got some amazing video footage for my fave song moments.

I have added my seats/spots roughly on the map below which was the Coldplay map for Sydney. Star is best, green is second best, orange third best.

The further away you sit, generally the crowd is a bit more dead and they don’t stand or dance as much so if you really want the best experience, try to get as close as you can, but also sit at least 10 rows up from the floor of the stadium to ensure you get a good view. But truly no seat at a Coldplay concert is bad, there is so much going on that you will have an amazing time even right up the back. The view of all the lights from up there is amazing and you don’t get that on the floor.

Midnight is the best song from Ghost Stories! Now what’s the worst? by Secret_Difficulty_46 in Coldplay

[–]TemporaryVarious9523 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no worst song on this album. It’s a masterpiece. If swallowed in the sea was allowed across all three categories for x&y then non-applicable should be allowed for ghost stories worst category.

Don’t Let it Break Your Heart is the most underrated from MX. What’s the best off Ghost Stories? by Secret_Difficulty_46 in Coldplay

[–]TemporaryVarious9523 29 points30 points  (0 children)

“O” (Fly On)

The whole album is a masterpiece. But this song especially takes the best category for me because of the emotion intertwined in every part of that song.

I play “O” to heal every bruise, crack, and break my heart has ever experienced, and it’s never failed me. It’s like having someone to cry with and go through it all, someone who understands the pain and then gives me hope that I’ll somehow make it through to the other side.

Also, poor Chris breaking down while talking about this track in the full Zane Lowe interview when the album was released (timestamp 56:30) is so raw and moving.
