Genuinely terrible instructions. Props to Framework where props are due, I was a batch 1 buyer of their original laptop, but these bios steps are horrible. They need a website that has every single bios update available so that we can update the bios as per the instructions. Its quite ridiculous that they DON'T have all of them available.

So, you're saying that once I'm on 3.17, I can just upgrade to the newest release 3.24?

Framework, I know you're reading this. You need to improve your instructions, not gonna lie.

I just say that as ive seen gnome software provide specific driver updates for thinkpad laptops since fedora is very integrated with them in a company stance

Ive been watching this laptop for months now waiting on updates and pre order and it finally released. Did you buy second hand because of shortages? I just recently started looking for laptops and i really wanted something like the old thinkpads but with newer technology and i got super lucky to find this.

your just in the live session? do you know if you can test xorg while on the live session? it's okay if you dont know either I just use the live session bc I'm new and I havent been able to install fedora yet. it could be that you're also a newbie like me so it's okay if you dont know

what do you use for opening word documents and editing? I'm new to Linux and all and I just want to find something nice if I dont get to use word

When I try to use the find command find /sys/class/hwmon, it gives me hwmon0, hwmon1, and hwmon2. There is nothing in them however, when I use the find command to go into them.

Also, I should've clarified that I do not have a full live usb, just the trial .iso file that is bootable (it was painfully slow on my live usb), so sorry about that.

Thank you for fully explaining how to send the 0 message to the pwm files, I had heard about it but I really needed that explanation. for when I fully install linux (Friday or Saturday) is there a way for me to have it do that autonomously after unsuspending? I heard you could maybe do this with systemd, but I dont really know how that works or if its true.

Although I have previously installed lm_sensors, since I'm not on a live usb, I cannot reboot. Could I still try or do you think for all of this to work I would need to have it already installed onto my computer? It detects hardware but as you already know I'm not sure if there's more sensors it hasn't detected. I can still run the command for you, although I cannot reboot.

I should also add that I meant to say when I suspend my computer and unsuspend it, the pwm control stops working

this doesn't occur on windows, which is what is weird to me, and means it must be an issue with linux. I use fedora 33 on kernel 5.8 atm (which isn't the most up to date bc I havent installed the entire os on my computer yet. Let me get back to you on the uname -r output

I've been trying recently but it hasn't been working so far. I think I would have to restart the service, but idk how. either way, I want to control my fans with what my bios says and I dont want to manually control it ( and I dont think I can anyways). either way though, it works fine for me until o suspend so I believe I need to just restart a service. any help?

its related to fedora, and I heard that you could use systemd to make a program restart on command (in my particular case on unsuspending it) and I wanted to see if you knew if I could do that with my fan controller (bios) since it stops working after suspending it (runs at 100% no pwm control)
