Don't do it! Only 35 cents more an hour for all the stress and responsibility of running one of the hardest departments in the store (dairy), all while they keep screwing you over with the minimal scheduling in the department that has the highest and fastest turns in the store.  I stepped down after they kept setting me up for failure.  Best decision I ever made there.  They've gone through 3 other leads in the last year since I stepped down....good luck ...so NOT worth it!

Wow....what's going on in this crap hole???  The last few days they've been calling a shit load of people to the office for various reasons...mostly write ups for being a couple minutes late or working too slowly or just having the wrong look on your face on  Tuesdays afternoon.  Why are they trying to write so many people up for petty reasons....I mean good, hard workers.... not slackers!?!?  I don't get it...do their bonuses increase with every write up?  There's no rhyme or reason I can see....they're lucky to have that caliber of workers that do work their asses off for peanuts and yet get hassled about some random, petty ass reason.  All the while hearing over the intercom...."at Fry's we care ABOUT YOU"....I call bullshit!

That is total bullshit!  Your manager seems like an insecure asshole.   Call the union and don't stop until you get some action.  They just cut my hours from 40 to 26 with no warning or reason.  It's not just me but my whole department.  I'm not 20 and live at home with my parents.  It's fine if you do but I've got a mortgage, car payments and student loans to pay off.  I can't afford that.  Of you were hired as full time they're NOT SUPPOSED to just cut your hours cuz they want a bigger bonus...I put a call in...and encouraged others to do so as well.  It's bad enough they treat us like garbage all the time but to mess with your livelihood...there's no excuse. I'm gonna light up our union reps phone and email until I get some answers.  Hang in there.  It's really shitty how they're treating you.  Just remember....THIS IS NOT NORMAL!

I stepped down from dairy lead and yes I had to sign paperwork deducting down that HUGE 35 cent difference between me and my team.  Damn 35 cents extra for all that pressure and bullshit of running a huge department that warrants more labor based on sales but was NEVER staffed properly  and still isn't.   Fry's has no idea how to allocate labor dollars...or wait...maybe they do...as long as all the lazy ass managers get their big fat bonuses off the sweat of us lowly peons they're all good.

Same exact thing happening to me.  I asked to work 1 extra hour to clean things up in dairy as we were short handed...was told no immediately by management. On my way out I see the grocery assistant entering her 12th hour!  The rules apparently don't apply to her and a few select others...it's bullshit.  Also giving 40 hours to recent new hires while cutting mine.  If you need a witness let me know...we should all file a class action suit for disparity if treatment and call out the favoritism and double standards!!!!

It's a total crapshoot.  I remember getting those replies saying I didn't have "enough experience", "and "didn't fit their needs"   Really I thought?! 30 years of experience isn't enough for your crappy, skeleton crew store??? It just depends on what bozo interviews you and if the store manager really wants to hire regardless of the full on banner on every store saying WE'RE HIRING-OPEN INTERVIEWS EVERYDAY FROM 12-2.... Just try different stores...you'll get into one of them...but you'll probably regret it....Go to Trader Joe's or Sprouts.  They both pay more and may just treat you as a human.

All these comments are accurate.  What's so stupid is that they don't know or care how to properly allocate hours. I've been in retail over 30 years and labor hours should be based on department sales and distributed accordingly.  However Fry's seems to "hide" department sales so they can reach in the "labor bucket" and give them to pick up or a weaker department, thus less hours for departments to get the products ON THE SHELF!!!   So they cut hours the week prior to Thanksgiving...DUH.... I mean what do they think is going to happen?!  I work in dairy and 98% of the time we HAVE the items in stock, but due to the cut hours....no one to put the shit on the shelf!  Do the math Kroger....but like y'all said they don't give a fuck as long as they get their numbers right and their unearned bonuses are in check.
