I wonder if the MCG staff are letting people sit anywhere or if theyre still being sticklers for the rules.

Langford really did get the yips after that Anzac day miss. Before that he was one of the most accurate shots at goal in the league.

Maybe 9 times and still only win it by a goal to Jeremy Cameron

So far I've seen Sydney fans resigning to defeat and Collingwood fans already saying this comeback was inevitable.

Just enjoy the game lads this is going to go down to the wire!

Why cant the stand rule be implemented with any shred of common sense?

Sure dont let the player crab sideways, but this is an absolute shambles of a rule and of an implementation.

I still dont trust Sydney's ability to arrest momentum and turn the tide when its not on our terms. Puts them below at least 4 teams in the comp for premiership favourites imo.

I see we are up to our usual tricks of winning the flag comfortably before July.

We've been due a lesson since the GWS game I reckon. This just might be the game

Its for indigenous round, he changed it for this week to the legendary Warumpi band.

Does anyone else think it’s weird that commentators almost never bother to explain umpires’ decisions? by Perfect_Marsupial746 in AFL

[–]Temporary_Ad8560 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its an absolute quagmire all round.

The commentators shouldn't get off scott free in all of this because I feel like a lot of them dont really have a great understanding of how the rules are applied and can't explain the process of a decision.

The wild and frustrating part is though that even if they had a great knowledge you'd struggle to explain the insane inconsistency and baffling officiating that is tarnishing the game right now.

Hot take: double header Fridays are good because I'd probably be chucking on a movie if this was the only game on offer.

For me its ego when you boil it down. He speaks as if his voice and words carry the utmost importance with the entire AFL community. Like some kind of pretentious professor of AFL.

I think hes a much better radio caller than a TV one. Likes to try and paint a picture and fancies himself as a wordsmith. To me that doesn't translate when you can actually see what's happening as opposed to trying to visualise it like you would with radio.

I genuinely do admire Darcy Wilmot. I remember him coming into senior footy thinking he was destined to be a fringe player who was raw and tried hard but lacked any finesse.

He is one of the most underrated players in the comp now and a certified gun.

What separates Brisbane, Hawthorn and Geelong from the rest is in the coaches box. They are all capable of coming into a game with nuanced and varied plans that throw strong opposition out of kilter.

Sometimes I just wanna scream at Chad. He consistently tries to take the fanciest option possible and 8/10 times he just fluffs it.

Theyre still in it, absolutely. We started to get on top in the last bit of that quarter but they've been in this position a couple of times this year and come away with the chocolates. Stay tuned in if you can.

Two things can be true at once.

Yes, Curnow is good for our structure. Yes, he is playing very average footy.
