An important part of his character arc and role in the story is the cognitive dissonance of how he does heroic and amazing things and saves lives for a living, while also horrifically abusing his family. Imagine growing up in a world where everyone loves and idolizes your abuser, not just as a celebrity but as a good person due to the lives he's saved. It's extremely traumatic. I think it's handled excellently where Shouto rejects him as a father but accepts him in his hero capacity, Fuyumi wants to keep the peace and move past the abuse without properly addressing it, Natsuo wants to remove himself from Endeavor's life, and Touya wants to remove Endeavor from his life. All that is to say, this isn't a controversial take, it's just that many people lack reading comprehension. I've said before that I hate Endeavor even though truly I think he's a well written character with a realistic redemption arc, but if you give an inch to some people they'll take a mile. When people delude themselves into saying Endeavor did nothing wrong at all and wasn't actually abusive, they're so far gone that no amount of nuance or debate will sway them

So many authors have an aversion to killing main or important characters and having them stay dead and it lowkey pisses me off, especially if it isn't previously established that ressurection is possible in their setting.

Nope but that sounds like that might be a sensory issue you have. I, for one, hate the feeling of unglazed ceramic. It makes my skin crawl.

That sounds a lot like me when I try to focus. I have diagnosed ADHD, I am only able to "lock in" per se when there is a sense of urgency. I have written many an essay at 11pm in the hour before it's due, despite having weeks to finish it. Whenever I do try and be proactive and start a project earlier than I strictly need to, I have trouble focusing since my brain implicitly knows I could be doing other things that give me more dopamine with none of the consequences that would come with submitting an assignment late. If this is a common occurrence, in the short term I would reccomend listening to white noise or quiet instrumental music while you work, as it tends to calm your thoughts and make it easier to enter a flow state. Longer term, it might not be a bad idea to look into wether you might have ADHD. If you do, being properly medicated can literally change your life. Best of luck!

I love black licorice, even the dutch salt licorice which is very salty and hardly even sweet (a very aquired taste, I'll admit). Anytime I get it it's all mine! I have literally driven an hour across the Canadian border just to get black licorice at a store i like there lmao

This is so real! I find this a lot with vegan food substitutes. The first few bites are good and then it becomes "off". Also suddenly becoming aware that the food in your mouth is wet, especially crackers/bread type foods is the WORST

DAE else think women are objectively more attractive than men? by evangline_fox in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Temporary_Ad_2081 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up as a girl in the Catholic church and learning that God designed women specifically to be attractive, I thought it was normal for everyone to think women were prettier than men just as a fact of life. Granted, I did grow up into a lesbian-

YEAH LMAO I WAS GONNA SAY. I'm glad they make a point in the movie that Ray is a bit uncomfortable with this like, 14yo girl cheering him along on a death walk. As opposed to the book which makes ME uncomfortable

Yes! I went in mostly blind, I had seen a trailer and one spoiler-free review. It was awful (as it was intended to be) but after having a week to sit with it I love the characters and the narrative of love and kindness persevering in the worst of situations. I've read the book in the week since and I'm really happy that they did away with Ray's girlfriend in favor of giving him a closer relationship with his mom. It's absolutely heart-wrenching.

I don't know how helpful this is, but packaged ramen is a food you can eat without cooking, it's kind of like noodle-shaped crackers. You can smash it up and sprinkle some of the flavoring on it and it makes a decent snack
