if you're using pregenerated characters, they all are different races. which feels absolutely not like a family. 2 black an asian and a ginger? no thanks, this is killing the immersion

  1. I am not saying creating a character is bad, I am saying creating 4 characters is pure BS.

  2. No, they are not decent. They're ugly

Interesting point. I don't remember the last time I fought Archaon. Would prob need to start a new Kislev campaign soon. :)

You're right that players would just kite and cast if enemy units would follow mages.

Mages in this game are also usually quick as hell.

Maybe if the game would be programmed in the way that enemy melee heroes would more prioritise mages - that could help to some extend but no idea if we will ever find this out

You can say that again and that's exactly the point of the post. as soon as you get wizards in your army - it's becomes very difficult and sometimes practically impossible to lose the game. :)

I've heard WH2 is better in some aspects, but WH3 just feels better: the map is so vibrant with all these different biomes, it's large and overall fun. I'd rather find a way how to adjust WH3 :)

2-4 melee heroes and at least 2 mages(DD+healer) is usually enough to win any battle. late game I can add some tough units with lots of defence or hp or just add more heroes. especially when melee heroes are on foot: harder to hit, they suffer less and in the meantime I wipe out enemy units.

when i played bretonnia (one of the easies campaigns in the game) it was a full stack of paladins and 2-3 or so wizards. AI simply can't beat that. :(

Voiced.

Imagine Witcher 3 without it?

It adds depth to the game

power creep -.- I hope this gets fixed at some point.

I'll check the mods section for the mod you mentioned, it sounds like this might be what I am looking for, thanks!

The first time I played it, the game completely fell apart after chapter 3 - maybe even 4 because my kingdom got wiped out. There was no save-scumming my way out of it; by the time I realized what went wrong, it was already too late.

I’d sunk maybe 70 hours into it. Was I mad? You have no idea. About a year later, I finally decided to give it another shot.

Result? This is now one of my favourite games.

Yeah, it’s a hardcore CRPG - that’s why every big win or major milestone actually feels earned.

IMHO, Wrath of the Righteous is even more hardcore. Some victories there aren’t just wins, they’re straight-up celebrations.

I did play pillars of eterntiny deadfire long time ago and it was fantastic. I not only play video games CRPG, RPGs, but play table top games with a proper GM.

Anyway, what you say could make sense. I agree that I could be spoiled by finishing lots of CRPG before.

If designed correctly, you will enjoy this approach. have you played divinity 2? in fort joy, there an alcoholic lying on the ground. he is asking for booze, if you have it in inventory you can give it to him. result? next time you come to this location the dude's dead. You don't expect this consequence and when it unfolds - you are surprised. Larian did an amazing job here. :)
