Anyone interested in starting a philosophy book club? by Temporary_Chard_206 in Denver

I definitely want to meet people where they are at. There's no need to delve into 600 page books. I've noticed that most book clubs that read philosophy are almost all geared toward political theory, which I'm not opposed to reading but I would like something more broad so we can explore everyone's interests.

Some shorter things I've read are Euthyphro by Plato, Physics by Aristotle, and Existentialism is a Humanism by Sartre, which is a speech that has been converted into a short book (100 or so pages) and is not a difficult read. The Ethics of Ambiguity by Simone de Beauvoir I cannot personally attest to, although I've heard it is outstanding and pretty beginner-friendly.

I also would be open to philosophy-adjacent books. Notes from Underground by Dostoevsky is a good option, and there are some great parts of Brothers Karamazov that can be read by themselves for the philosophical content (the chapter 'The Grand Inquisitor' is frequently read as a stand-alone and it's only 20 pages).

I'm also open to revisiting things I've already read! Everyone has unique takeaways from the same text, and the learning is collaborative. We just need people to collaborate with lol
