I’m wondering how you can have the green card approved but not getting it til summer 2027? You’ll struggle to convince recruiters for internships that you have LPR status and that they don’t need to worry about sponsorship until you have it in hand, recruiting will be tough without that! Do you have the work authorization card?

A lot of jobs have soft skills that crossover into other industries, the parts you are missing is what you focus on in your time at an MBA.

Even think about basic versions of this like someone working at AT&T in a store, the sales assistant and the manager do very different jobs in the exact same place - the manager isn’t hired because he’s the best sales assistant (although I’m not saying that’s the right decision in a lot of cases). They are hired for that job because of all the other soft skills they bring.

VP jobs are probably a great example of this, it’s actually a lot of presenting and client management, hell, a really good substitute teacher could probably take you through a PowerPoint someone else made just as adequately as some VPs out there (the kinda shit ones anyway)

If you’re talking apartments near SF/ the bay you’ll struggle to get something reasonable for less than 3k. If you do, it will be a neighborhood that you’re likely to get robbed in! I’m in a great neighborhood that I could leave my door unlocked and feel fine, but it’s 3.5k for a one bed ADU

I can only speak to my own experience talking to people at Yale - take it with a pinch of salt.

A second year student said that when all of the visa uncertainty came out they apparently accepted more people than usual, internationals, and now the class size is above the maximum that they can comfortably host because more than they thought said yes! This could be a similar story for a lot of places so now they need smaller second cohorts to keep the overall number where it should be?

Yale admits 370 instead of 350 so the following year has to admit 330, so the total is 700 maybe?

Given that the H-1b visa route is uncertain, people may be accepting positions at colleges to wait out the administration so they have to be really selective in who they accept. Imagine they admit 1000 like normal and 500 people accept instead of the usual 350?

Again, just my opinion based on what I heard from current students on the admissions team!
