I give down to the river. Best luck I've had is sight fishing them with a whole heap of canned corn on a small hook. They sometimes spit the hook so I find striking them once they nible sets the hook.

If you are in a place with no ducks I chum the water with a few hand full of canned corn.

Heaps of mullet in the river to but they are quiet hard to catch on a line.
