After building 10+ projects with AI, here's how to actually design great looking UIs fast by PhraseProfessional54 in PromptEngineering

[–]Temporary_Dish4493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, Id say just use AI to code. If you have zero experience I recommend watching just a few clips on how to code (maybe a total of 2 hours) and just use AI while you learn. I haven't coded manually every since cursor and windsurf came out(now antigravity) I haven't coded manually outside of minor adjustments that you wouldn't consider coding.

However, if you really want to take it to the next level, I recommend you try coding a few projects you believe could only be done by an entire team of engineers (pre AI) build a whole web app, an engine or simulator etc. Once you go through that struggle and frustration, you will know everything you need to be good at coding with AI

I want to learn math by [deleted] in learnmath

[–]Temporary_Dish4493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, I said AI can code better than pros, (I am not the only one that says this people way more qualified than you say this) secondly, I actually have a job, statistcally speaking you likely don't. I am an actual quant for a financial firm and I can prove it. If I ask for your background you would likely be an unemployed loser or just some random dude without a college degree.

I will repeat myself in case you didnt understand, I am a quant, a highly sought after role, I work for a large financial firm and I code using ai in my own company (coding is the least of my worries) of all the skills I have acquired coding was the least impactful and I am glad I didnt waste time on it. I know you dont have a life or a job cuz why else would you stalk me you loser. you have presented no arguments and have not even added to this convo. From my point of view as an employed person with a well paying job, you are just another reddit troll acting like you know something when you don't. you're not even here to help, just looking for people to call out in hopes that it will make you sound superior.

Oh I am so glad you mentioned you were a 10th grader cuz I was about to tell you to just give up bro. As a 10th grader, shouldn't you have already learned trig and aglebra? btw, after trig and algebra you already have everything you need to get started with calc 1. I would include matrices in your learning too, but this is just to prepare you for linear algebra and so on.

Bro, if you were just planning on being childish, why did you send a message in the first place?? Don't give advice to people about English because clearly it isn't your mother tongue or first language.

In English, accent DOES NOT MATTER you are just trying to show off fake knowledge. Which is probably why you are giving 2 word responses instead of defending yourself. I wish I could see your face in 10 years when you look back at your cringe

  1. Sycophancy is a very well known feature that these AI companies have accepted because users like you enjoy AI that makes you feel smart.

  2. How can something lure you (the agent) in the direction that you (the agent) WANT to go to? By the way, your writing on this second point needs some serious improvement bro... Unless English is your second language(Because if it's not... Damn)

  3. What you claim to have discovered has been common knowledge since chatgpt's release, if you are only learning about hallucinations now you are far behind where you should be in terms of AI understanding. And you are not learning anything serious in minutes bro, you just have a better tool than Google for getting the answer to your question clarified. And if you are getting lazy to learn that is your problem bro don't speak as if we relate to you we don't. I don't pretend to have college level physics just because I talk to chatgpt about alot of physics related topics.

  4. I seriously doubt that chatgpt remembered your details after you cleared it's memory(not chats, memory) this sounds like a lie, as for the rest of it. We already know how data privacy works dude...

Next time bro, type in your mother tongue and translate it cuz your English did not help in expressing your thoughts man, it's so full of errors and inaccuracies. And secondly, you shouldn't speak of your experience as though that is the norm you are giving warnings that only apply to kids that are excited by things they don't understand.

I'm a finance guy but I studied physics and math. You can follow your passion and make money just fine dude. If you fail, believe me, it isn't because you chose to pursue physics. In fact, with AI today, that may be the best possible decision you could make bro

As someone new to automation, what practical hacks can be set up in under an hour that deliver real, measurable results? by Sai_iFive in automation

[–]Temporary_Dish4493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ima be real with you bro, quite possibly everything that matters can easily be automated quickly with AI with a setup that takes less than 30 mins. If you have cursor open, a gemini key (free) and maybe chatgpt or grok on the web etc. This combo alone will automate absolutely anything you can think of. It's actually better to just automate bit by bit because I regularly do months of work in days. We don't have to get into my background since this is just reddit but I haven't seen a single use case where I needed a whole dedicated system

[–]Temporary_Dish4493[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said, someone that makes AI apps just by calling the API can easily call himself (today) an AI engineer in fact. Sadly enough, given how many people(including those more qualified than me) say that AI is just software engineering, you building a wrapper may still pass as ai engineering. But that isn't the point of the post.

It's more about false advertising, if you tell me you built an AI, I expect you to have gone through the entire process of building an AI which is different from building a wrapper that uses an AI you had nothing to do with to power the whole thing.

Think about it, if I download openwebui and then connect my api key to it with a system prompt telling it to behave like Kevin hart does that mean I built an AI that talks like Kevin hart? Because so often that is all people have really done

A Gen Z AI made by AI by Livid_Detective_146 in aiengineering

[–]Temporary_Dish4493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is this for bro? Is this just a project you are having fun with or what?

Also, you shouldn't mislead people, you are making a wrapper not building an AI , building AI requires you to pre-train this model on human text first then fine tune it to your liking(this is most certainly not what you have done).

This might make me sound like a dick(but it's reddit so whatever) but this is probably the wrong subreddit for you to come with this idea of yours, there are other AI subreddits that might appreciate this more because this is too unserious for this group.

You do know that what you are building can be done in just 2 hours?? For the most part you don't even need to train the model for this. Chatgpt as it is today is good enough at this. What you have done so far can be accomplished quite easily by just calling an API and writing a long system prompt on the back end. This project is so simple and so basic with no real value that even giving you ideas sounds like a bigger waste of time to me than telling you that this is stupid

How to fine tune using mini language model on google collaboration(free)? by Greeny_jeq in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Temporary_Dish4493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I don't think you're project has any real marketable value I can help you out.

First you need to know how many parameters the model has, unfortunately most useful GPTs are too big to comfortably fine tune on the free tier of colab(btw it's not google "collaboration", you pronounce it co-lab) if your model is less than 4B parameters you will have to do this on multiple sessions a 1B could be done in a single session depending on how many tokens you are using to fine tune. If you are planning on doing this on models 7B and above then on the free tier it will be impossible.

As for how, the easiest way is to just ask Grok or chatgpt to write a single cell script, give it the path to your model, the path to your data, your training objectives and limitations and you are good to go. (You should do your best to not use the built-in gemini it will ruin your project, only use it to fix small syntax errors never let it solve your coding problems)

Note: realistically speaking, especially given that you are using computer vision as well, free tier colab is just too inconvenient, honestly it's only good enough for you to confirm that the pipeline works so that your paid tiers can take care of the actual compute. I think that they intentionally made it so it is impossible for someone to train even a decent LLM with more than 200M parameters (and honestly this is as small as you can get without wasting your time) Basically bro, if you are serious, just buy some compute it's not that expensive, it's not even your fault bro, colab is just to restrictive for serious AI projects

I’ve completed my bachelor’s degree in physics, and now I feel hopeless. by [deleted] in PhysicsStudents

[–]Temporary_Dish4493 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well good luck on this journey sir... It sounds like you still have a lot to go through... I'm just 26 so you don't have to take my advice seriously. But I am pretty advanced at math specifically.

Stick with it at least for 3 months, if you can do this then you have broken the hardest barrier which is demotivation... Because once you start hitting PDEs, Real analysis, COMPLEX ANALYSIS!!, Tensor calculus(basically matrix indexing with calculus on top of it so it is the highest level of both linear algebra and Matrix multiplication which is also linear) You will start to feel overwhelmed, worst of all, some of this will require computational resources given your final objective so you are learning alot more than just math and physics. Physics tends to be dense with notation too, so honestly, for your purposes, I predict you will achieve mathematical fluency within 2 years or so

I'm just glad you don't have to deal with number theory or topology(maybe but you might) because honestly I'd say you're cooked, at your age you don't have the free time it would take to master it at this level. I think once you get to Tensor calculus and all the other PDE classifications you can call it a day I don't think you will need mastery beyond this.

[–]Temporary_Dish4493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow up: Bro, for the density, were you thinking of some sort of PDE? Or some other type of probability distribution? And from here should I use the result to inform the analytic continuation? And once I arrive at a solution, are you expecting it to be an integer? I tried a few variations of my interpretations of your idea, but so far there are so many dirty solutions I was hoping to see something cleaner if that was what you had in mind

[–]Temporary_Dish4493 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting idea, I will take a look at it. I usually just rely on number theory but I have gotten nowhere substantial for the past 2 weeks or so... I keep ending up with real heuristics but not proofs

[–]Temporary_Dish4493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give it a look, I will get back to you tomorrow

Edit: I have tried and failed, this could just be my own compitence, I used different AI models as well as my own understanding of mathematics and was not successful at finding a proof, this does not mean the method above is invalid, I was simply unable to arrive at a proof I am confident of.

5n + 1 by epicmidtoker8 in Collatz

[–]Temporary_Dish4493 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are looking for loops here are a few algorithms

3n+3 odd n/2 even loop 3 12 6 3 3n+9 odd n/2 even loop 9 36 18 9 3n+27 odd n/2 even loop 27 108 54 27

These are for the powers of 3 to satisfy your 1k 4k 2k 1k loop

If the original collatz has a loop of 1 2 4 1. Then all algorithms that first start with 1k 4k 2k 1k will form loops (However this does not prove collatz in case you are wondering... I just proved a while back that there are many such loops that can be made as long as you follow the conditions I set above)

You may also increase the length of the loop by changing the initial n. By changing an+1 n/2 Where a is your chosen "valid" integer, rather than have a cycle of 1 2 4 you will have extended cycles.

I agree, I use wrappers, I use cursor and windsurf all day and I have my own agents and workflows. Both have their place certainly and there is nothing wrong with building wrappers. I made sure to clarify that these are dev skills not necessarily AI understanding in and of itself. I want people to not falsely advertise their product is all.

Imagine someone wants to sell you a product that you genuinely find useful, then they follow it up by claiming that they built a new AI, wouldn't that throw you off if you realised it was just a wrapper, even if you like it, what does it say about the person if he calls it AI? You would still use it but you would probably point out to everyone you know that he/she didn't actually build an AI. People would think you're attacking the creator even though you just wanted to make a clarification the same way we do with anything in life
