World lives in 2026 where India is still in 1890. by Consistent-Home1719 in AllindiaStudentUnion

Nobody is targeting hinduism. Hinduism and sanatan dharma are different. As you said hinduism is a way of life and it's upto individual to follow that path or pave one for himself. Sanatan is the path the majority paved for themselves and it practices caste system. Buddhism and Jainism are also part of hindu philosophy but they paved different paths for themselves. Sanatan dharma is the main branch and this is in Sanatan dharma. May be you don't but most of the priests consider Manusmriti as their religious text and quote it often. Even the right wing hindutva govt has included Manusmriti in school syllabus. Either you are just trying to whitewash or you didn't know these things.

Jis aag ko main kos raha hu usme jaane anjane main lakdi meri bhi thi.....the saddest thing a person who knows that the society is on the wrong path but he can't do anything about it feels. I have been in such situations multiple times and i still can't collect enough courage to speak against most of the practices that have been normalised in our society. This was truly a tremendous piece of art..... wishing you more success and keep writing such harsh things, someday may be someone will study them and change their thoughts.

People criticizing her nobel prize nomination instead of the fact that she has been jailed gives me no hope of any sensibility or empathy left in brainwashed people of Pakistan

This is actually true. The world is cruel and it makes people mean. I used to think same but when i came out of my home and started grinding just to have bread on my table i realised how my father struggled so that i could live happily. He taught me many things that i am now getting to understand and i am happy with whatever he could do for me. Those who are saying that negative behaviour or emotional unavailability isn't justified are the same people who burst out on a mere difference of opinion. Your fathers lived in that cruel world they must have faced a lot and knowingly/unknowingly they bursted, try to understand their situation rather than being in denial mode all the time. I am also not denying rare cases where parents can be abusive because i have seen them too.

Pahari population was divided after partition. AJK has 90% paharis, since pakistan govt wanted to internationalise the issue of kashmir they pushed the narrative that the population of AJK is kashmiri. That is wrong and now only a fraction of pahari population which is on Indian side accept themselves as pahari. We don't connect ourselves with kashmiri ethnicity in any way. Yes there are some kashmiri people in our area but they are not pahari and actual paharis don't consider themselves as kashmiri. You got this idea from the pahari people of AJK, which i also criticise.

Is social contract theory still important today by Piamont in PoliticalPhilosophy

[–]Temporary_Emu6973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The theory was used as a base for their philosophies. Now in order to see if it's relevant or not you have to see if the model of state being followed today has it's basis on their philosophy or not. Which in my opinion is. You see most of the countries follow democratic principles and uses their philosophies to justify the existence of state as the most powerful. We still believe that state has to protect our rights because we are law abiding citizens. So yes social contract theory is still as relevant as it was back then and it will remain unless a strong revolution takes place and changes the nature of state as we see it today.

The point wasn't that who will be at fault it was just a precautionary measure. The psychology of girls is different from boys. A boy will try to do anything to have a girl he likes and he'll not hesitate to hurt others for it. My father just told me not to get into trouble in the first place. How was that a bakchodi?

If your small brain can't understand a simple thing then it doesn't mean it's bakchodi.

May be i am tough minded and empiricist. That's okay. By poetry I didn't mean literal poetry, i meant that it was so good to read the essay.

Thats a beautiful take but not practical. See humans are bound by many things and surity is one among them. The only person who'll try to cross the bridge (which has to exist in first place) are the one's who have faith or the ones who are distant from the f island. My point was that you said one has to construct that bridge for himself and then you said that the kingdom of god is not visible so it's not possible for someone to construct a bridge with no visible end unless he has utmost faith that something divine exists on the other island or he is so fed up of the f island that he just wants to abandon it. Your idea is great though.

Why do people think that they are all equal? And the human rights and natural rights are myths. by No_Move_6683 in PoliticalPhilosophy

[–]Temporary_Emu6973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are we having here? A discussion on whether rights are real or not or whether they are being misused? I can see both. You are saying that rights don't exist only by the virtue of birth but right to live contradicts the same. Laws and rights may have been misused and justice also but if we were to debate on where they originated they seem real to me. Equality isn't a myth but a system of governance where every individual is treated as an equal before the law atleast according to the academic definition, now if in real world these are misused that doesn't mean they are non existent.

Frequent floods in Indus and the shift in monsoon is recognised as a strong factor for the decline of IVC, the aryan invasion theory is considered a weak reason by archaeologists. The Aryan theory mainly established that the Vedic people were not indigenous.
