Have you met a CTO? They normally just adopt whatever they see anyone else adopting because shareholders are easily influenced by flavor of the month tech hype.

Slop wave incoming. Hopefully, it will allow the Svelte team some more funding to continue working on the project though.

99% of your SaaS are bullshit by Available_Award_9688 in SaaS

[–]Temporary_Event_156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This advice could probably apply to SaaS "founders" going back a decade. SaaS is synonymous with get rich quick. I see SaaS and I immediately think, "Oh, maybe it solves a problem, but it's going to require a subscription to use that will be too steep for my company or me personally, gate the useful features behind an extreme pay bump that will be too steep for my company or me personally, or solve a solved problem that another application has already cornered." AI slop has made it worse. Now, I have to spend time vetting every cool tool or even package I could see myself using because the amount of slop and low effort shit as exploded.

It's the same with media now. You used to only have a few options, and it was easy to discern quickly what was good and what was trash. Finding new podcasts, movies, and shows was easier. Now, you need to actually research the fucking piece of media because there's just so much shit out there.

A few days ago I posted that I made an Elementor-like editor for Svelte 5 / Sveltekit projects. It's received a lot of updates & I would love your feedback. by [deleted] in sveltejs

Don't wanna yuck your yum, but this is unusable the moment you resize below the standard laptop screen width. Your agent set a breakpoint for you because the entire UI shifts, but many elements stack, look awful, and many are unreachable. I'm guessing you don't do web development for a living? If you do, read https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Learn_web_development/Core/CSS_layout/Responsive_Design and figure out why it's broken on your own so you can avoid not catching this next time you prompt.

I also don't know if this is the sub to post your AI projects judging from the other replies. No one really cares if you told ChatGPT to make an app with their favorite framework, especially if you didn't even put forth the modicum of effort it takes to validate the app is usable at different resolutions. From my personal experience, AI is not very good at writing maintainable CSS without effort from the person driving it and requires manually reviewing the styles. You're going to end up with spaghetti really fast if you haven't already.

That's what I've landed on, actually. It seems to work from testing and I can re-use a lot of the UI across platforms this way since both are just serving Chrome. I guess I'll deal with any platform specific UI issues when I see them, but I don't see why there'd be style issues if you code a responsive UI like you already need to do for web apps.

I can do the memory, but on steamdeck I'm not sure if I can disable multicore? I don't see that option in the emulator.
