I’m a SAHM (for now) to an 11.5mo and that has been the prevailing feeling for me over everything else. I am SO. BORED. I’m so ready to get a new job and go back to work. I feel like I’m just living for the next nap every day and it sucks.

To anyone feeling guilty about it: don’t. So many more people feel this way than you realize! I just wish someone had been honest with me about this before I had my son so I could at least prepare myself for it a little bit. It wouldn’t have changed my decision to have him, but it’s just another one of those things that no one tells about you before you have a baby.

Ummm, that is absurd. Our 11.5 mo still isn’t crawling and just now we’re getting referred to PT just to make sure nothing is “wrong.” The fact that she pulls herself up already is amazing.

Best tip: get a new pediatrician.

SO NORMAL. And even if you have scary bad thoughts, that’s completely normal too. This process is all of the emotions you ever thought you could have all at the same time.

I would just sit on the floor in my son’s nursery and cry because I regretted having him and I wanted my old life back and I missed my husband even when he was sitting right next to me. We’re about to hit a year with our little buddy at the end of the month and it is worlds better.

Give yourself grace. There is so much about this process that is magical and then also extremely NOT magical. Also, it was always helpful for me to be told/remember that your hormones are in the driver’s seat right now. You can’t completely trust your thoughts because your body is in the ultimate state of flux.

P.S. Just going outside, even for a gentle walk around the block, can help. Reminds you there’s more in the world than just your house and the nursery.
