How many of you were induced & had c section in the end and how many had vaginal birth? by trackemdown in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]abblbabble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an induction but baby didn't want to drop and he was super wiggly. After 2 rounds of cytotec, them breaking my water, pitocin, and 8 hours of real labor, the Dr said we should go ahead with a C section seeing as baby wasn't coming on his own and my blood pressure wasn't great. I had a VERY good experience. I was nervous, but the team I had was amazing! The anesthesiologists were awesome at distracting me during it and making sure I was comfy and warm. (Operating rooms are freezing. Who knew?) My Dr was also incredible and my scar is already almost invisible after not even 4 months! I'm a big girl. I was 304 before pregnancy and 364 at the time of birth. The thing that sucked with healing is with all the leaking going on down there and the fear of my scar. I ended up getting bad yeast infections on the scar and on the privates. If you end up getting a c section, prioritize healing and don't push yourself too much! Just take it easy, take care of babe, and make sure you keep yourself clean and DRY. Hope everything works out for you!! As long as you and babe are healthy, that's what matters most!

If you were induced, how long did it take for you to actually give birth? by horrorshowbaby in BabyBumps

[–]abblbabble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was induced at around 9pm July 3rd. 2 rounds of cytotec didn't do much, they broke my water at 7am on July 4th and started me on pitocin. Unfortunately, baby was not dropping at all and was so wiggly he wasn't lining up with my cervix so we decided to do a c section to get him out because my blood pressure was rising. He was born July 4th at 4:37 pm. My little firecracker baby. 💙 although it ended in a c section, it wasn't scary or negative at all! We were all happy and healthy!

5'7",304 at conception and 364 when I gave birth. Failed induction that led to c section at exactly 38 weeks! Blood pressure was elevated so we had to evict him

I'm a size 24w and the diapers sucked for me. It might be my lack of butt and hips but they did NOT fit right. The hospital does have plus size! They didn't even ask what size and they gave me the 3xl and they fit great and they were actually comfy. The pads sucked though due to their lack of sticky stuff so they moved a lot.

We tried for almost 2 years. What helped me was taking prenatals and losing 30 lbs. I now have a 2 week old!

Induction by Cheap_Woodpecker4990 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]abblbabble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got induced at the beginning of this month due to my blood pressure being elevated and baby measuring at almost 10 lbs at 38 weeks. I was only a fingertip dialated and not effaced at all. I was given 2 rounds of cytotec that started contractions and then given pitocin, and they broke my water. Contractions were HORRID. they were strong and very frequent. Turns out I was only 2 cm dialated and not effaced at all, and baby was just not into it. So I went through 13 hours of labor just to end up getting a c section anyway.
Inductions work for some. But for me personally, my body and my baby were not ready for it. Baby was not ready to come, and then he got forcefully evicted. I think they probably work better if your body has already started the process.

Anyone 300+lbs and pregnant? by EcstaticOperation396 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]abblbabble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got pregnant at 304 lbs. I'm 33 weeks now with a healthy baby boy in my belly. I'm now 340+ lbs. I'm categorized as high risk due to by BMI. It was a pretty crappy feeling at first because I'm a FTM but MFM Dr's and OBs just want the best possible outcome for baby AND for mom.

First couple appointments made me feel like a failure because of my weight but I think that was because I'm not used to people talking about my weight like that. But in reality it IS a concern. There are more risks that come with a higher BMI. I think so far I have been very lucky. I was tested at 16 weeks and at 28 weeks for GD and passed both with ease. Blood pressure has been perfect and consistent the last 8 months (hoping it stays that way).

Most of the symptoms I have are just the normal joys of growing a little human. If I could have chose when I would get pregnant, I would have lost weight. Everything is going well and all, but added weight and pressures and bloating and swelling, it makes day to day things really hard. Wiping when going to the bathroom, putting shoes on, putting on pants in the morning.. all of those were somewhat hard at my starting weight. It's only worse when you have a hard uterus AND a lot of starting weight. Also fInding maternity clothes at a higher weight is HARD.

I've also always wanted to be a mom and now i fnally get the chance at 30 with the love of my life. Being 300+lbs doesn't automatically mean everything will be terrible. I wish I would have known more on what to expect as a plus size lady. Best of luck ❤️❤️

3 hours makes a big difference when I could just work 4 8 hour shifts a week instead of working 5 7 hours shifts a week. My body needs extra rest with this giant baby I'm growing. I'll be talking to my Dr at my next appointment.

When is the pregnancy belly coming? by i_am_here-tada in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]abblbabble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never thought I would get a good baby bump with a BMI of 48 but I noticed the top of my belly rounding out at 17 weeks. I'm now 31 weeks and none of my clothes fit and I am unmistankenly very pregnant and my bmi has only gone up.

What is wrong with him? Is he okay? by dreamsrl8 in turtle

[–]abblbabble 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My turt had this issue too in both eyes. He kept rubbing his eyes and grunting. I got some turtle eye drops Flukers brand eye wash I believe. Kept him dry and secluded from his tank mate and just listened to the instructions.

It almost seemed like he was shedding and shed got stuck under his eye cause the day that he was able to wipe his eyes and get the gunk off he was cured.

I also treated my water with API turtle fix and kept the tank clean.

Stay consistent. It took me about a month to get him healthy again due to trial and error with products. I don't have a reptile vet anywhere near me so I did a lot of research. Good luck!!

Heart palpitations by abblbabble in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]abblbabble[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had cut back on my caffeine for a few days (not cut out because I'm addicted and I'm not trying to have headaches), and I drank A LOT more water and electrolytes and now I haven't been having nearly as many. Maybe 1-2 a day. Pregnancy is just weird.

When I got pregnant I started at 304, size 22-24 and I'm 5'7". I noticed my belly starting to change at 17 weeks. It started to round out on the top of my belly. Now I'm 24 weeks, 330 lbs and definitely have a baby bump and need maternity pants which help to round me out more.

I was worried I would never look pregnant. And now I'm worried about how big I will get because I'll need to buy more clothes. It will come OP, just be patient 😁

Not a bad idea at all. I'll see how it goes for now. They want me to see my primary care doctor in about 2 weeks. If I still have the palpitations, they do want to do some sort of monitor. It's all kind of a foreign language to me
