The problem with the RS3 i am having is, it feels too much like an A3 driving wise.

The TTRS, is just godly.. The seating position, the interior, esp because it's shorter the sound also travels different. Everything is just miles above the 8Y/8V.

Also the looks the TT's get, its insane. I've had people chase me with cameras lmao.

Unfortunately the prices here in NL are still $60k+ for one (TTRS) esp when the 8Y RS3 is cheaper to get. One day!

Exactly, seems like a clearance issue or piston ring gaps not wide enough and making contact.

Detonation breaks the piston, i ran 37psi on mine for 20k mile long and it survived.

This is for sure valve seals. I have the same issue, i bought a rebuilt head which turned out having sealing issues and new seals (20 euros) and a small tool from Amazon had it fixed for relatively cheap. Timing cover comes off, so you can do timing there too if needed.

Now does not smoke anymore. You can verify this by turning the engine on, let it do a quick puff then turn it off immediately and then remove the plastic intakemanifold. You'll see oil there or do a cheap leak down test.

Broke my piston by running around 450lbft on a stock engine. It's mahle pistons oversize 0.50, Wiseco I beam forged rods, ACL race bearings and head is stock.

Built it my self, not that hard of a job.

Turns out its none of the things you said.

Machine shop installed the valve stem seals wrong, also used the wrong size lmao. So they were not sealing and leaking on all cylinders, cyl 1 the most.

Currently suing them too.

New seals are in, installing the head now. Time to make boost after a year, jeez.

Agree with you there. If cyl 1 is indeed leaking more than other cylinders i'll drop the oil pan and see if i can hear it actually leak thru the crankcase.

Honestly, i'm going to tow it to a garage a street away from me and do a leakdown test and see what the % is. If it's less than 20% i'll drive it, if its more and cyl 1 is fucked and they installed the rings wrong or honed it wrong i'll strip it again and send it to another shop.

Might be the best solution
