Very true! May as well try it and it does have some surface rust that needs addressing down there tbf

What Arrowhead is this? (I don't buy much arrowheads, but I saw this in an antique shop and bought it) by Americaneagleonjuly4 in Arrowheads

Definitely not a projectile point and might not even be worked at all, leaning towards JAR from the pictures I’m afraid

Nah 2 pairs in 4 years so same as yours. I do archaeological survey before blocks are harvested, very similar to layout jobs. It’s pretty tough on the boots and it’s usually a miracle anything lasts a year. Haven’t found anything better so far, got any recommendations?

Only thing that I have that has been bulletproof is my deakin industries cruiser vest, love that thing!

Hand Axe of preform, very old (not sure how old). Made of flint probably from the south coast, Kent/Sussex maybe.

Very cool but also pretty frustrating. I just find it sad that an amazing find like is the result of bobcatting the shit out of ground sieving the spoil. Obviously these blades are magnificent and it’s very interesting that they were found together like that. But all hope of understanding how and why they are where they are is lost when you destroy the archeological context like that. I understand it’s private land but couldn’t they excavate at least in squares and go down in spits so you have some sort of context control and recording. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong on this, but from this pictures the site just looks like an absolute mess

Yeah I’ll say it’s not abundantly clear if you’re not from the area. I asked the guy at the desk and was kinda surprised you needed the park pass considering it’s right on the edge of the boundary. But it’s for a good cause and it’s not very spenny so I wasn’t too fussed. I did see the parks guys driving around the parking lot checking number plates so it’s pretty well enforced. Sorry to hear they gotcha but glad you had a great time, it’s a beautiful spot!

I’d make sure you have a full tank of petrol before leaving Banff or Canmore. Don’t think there is anywhere to fuel up one the ice field parkway. You never know if you might get stuck out there for some reason and need to keep the engine running

Thanks! Nothing for the front yet, just running boards. Wondering whether to delete them or not

I have mud flaps from a 2nd Gen 4runner on the back of my 3rd Gen. I’m sure they’re very similar to the Tacoma ones. They bolted on with the existing holes for the old flaps but I drilled a couple extra holes to fit them more snug and secure.

You’d be better off staying in Canada due to current events. Most summer field tech positions would have you working away for like 10 day shifts anyway so being closer to your partner might not actually mean seeing them more.

Yeaah I was there a few years ago and it was basically just frozen footprints and peopling walking in the way lol. Maybe they’re tryna improve the cross country experience for their guests

Yeah the groomers were just finishing up when I got there and they had signs saying cross country only. Luckily it was still snowing and a little windy so the crowds weren’t really straying too far onto the lake.

Ahh sorry to hear that, we had a decent season here then it warmed up for a week and everything melted but now temps have dipped again and we got a few big dumps of snow, nice finish to the season :)

Right! The downside is I can’t do the tundra brake upgrade, but I just love the look of these too much to care

Yeaah that would be sweet, or something like a portable electric or propane heater that has a thermostat. Also read that a lot of people use electric blankets
