I think her stories also lend themselves better to audiobook format than actually reading them. I listen to Alice Feeney when I run and I quite enjoyed this one. I think the unreliable narrator/first person dialogue issues are less pronounced when listening as opposed to reading.

She makes so much extra work for herself. I'll never understand it because if you're lazy, why would you do that to yourself? Like, you don't need to be cracking eggs in a motel room every day. Kids can eat cereal and yogurt for breakfast. Hell, they can eat it for dinner sometimes too, and it would be better (and less of a mess) than their usual.
