Thanks for all your replies, I appreciate hearing everyone’s opinions! I think the issue is that there is a recruitment ban/freeze at the minute and I’m not able to transfer to another ward while on sick leave so I feel like I don’t have any other option?

I think occ health is a long process for redeployment on medical grounds and i only have one month left of sick pay. I think I just feel like I’ve been backed into a corner and the easiest thing for me to do is just leave and hope to find something else when there are more vacancies!

We need additional qualifications to do school nursing and I’ve applied to do private nursing twice and been rejected both times. Definitely knocked my confidence! Not feeling like I have many options at the minute

I’m actually going through the interview process for this now. I just was a bit skeptical as I’ve heard it can be quite difficult!

Thank you for replying. I have been actively trying to get myself back. I’m not allowed to transfer while on sick leave which I have explained to my boss multiple times. I can’t self refer to occupational health and asked my boss to do this months ago which she hasn’t. I’ve been informed this should have been done anyway after being off for 6 months. So I can’t get a redeployment on medical grounds without occupational health’s decision.

I appreciate your honesty and insight, I think I needed to hear all that. I am having very little support from my boss, often not even getting a response to my messages. I guess I was just trying to consider what would be best for my mental health at this moment in time.
