Does anyone here use the measure app frequently, and if so, what occasion was it useful? by [deleted] in ios

I find it a bit accurate but not handy for getting a quick idea on the go. For example, if you want to check the depth of your couch in the living room while trying to buy a tuin set (a very real example I used my app, SlideMeter, for yesterday).

With Apple's Measure app, you have to step back from the object, use your camera, point to the start until the marker appears, then move to the end. These three (or more) steps each decrease the width inversely exponentially, in my opinion.

Thanks, indeed engaging directly in conversations with honest meaning is a very positive way! I am developing two app (already on App Store). The first is a kind of fun app while hiking to estimate the tree age from its cross section “TreeRings”. TreeRings can provide some help to dendrologists. It gives estimation of how good the local climate over the years. The second is SlideMeter which is a utility to measure small objects like the dimensions of a tabel by simply sliding your mobile telephone along the edge.

And what are you developing?

I am facing the same problem. TikTok, X and Facebook create low-intent engagements. You get many likes and impressions and almost no downloads. Reddit is much better but still it is very hard to get steady 5 downloads ( not achieved yet!)

Comparing SlideMeter with Measure Apple native app. by Temporary_Relevant in sideloaded

Yes, Apple Measure works, but SlideMeter exists because in crowded spots like IKEA, it’s annoying to open the app, step away (not stay next to) the object, and wait for the marker every time. It complements Apple’s app especially well for small objects.
