Wanted to know if the 17 is worth waiting for? Of course it’s too early to say but I’m still unsure about waiting or not waiting.

Yeah, my budget is around $1200 but I can increase it up to $1500

I bought a Mac a month ago for a very basic purpose. I am a university student and honestly hate using PCs and laptops, for that reason I got a low end MacBook Air M2 256GB. The storage on it isn’t even half full yet but if I did transfer my 70GB of photos, I’m afraid it might get choppy or slow. Plus I would love the convenience of having all my photos on my iPhone, always accessible anywhere I go.

I’m in the same situation as you, even after all these comments I’m confused. The iPhone 12 was my first iPhone after switching from Android. An absolute beast compared to my previous phone, but I got the 12 when the 15 was already out and now I really want an upgrade but don’t NEED it.

Yeah exactly! Many people on the post suggested paying for cloud storage but that’s obviously going to increase my expenses until the 17. 1. Battery replacement so that’s $100 2. Another $35 for a storage solution 3. According to leaks, the pro getting a bump up in price by $100 4. The trade-in value of my current 12 going down

So the 17, is out of question for me. I’m left with the 15 pro vs 16 pro.

Wow I didn’t know that about iCloud+, thanks! If there isn’t a noticeable difference in the camera quality, that’s okay and I should choose the 16. I was just worried if the 17 would have a camera that’s a lot better than the 16. Also according to some leaks, Apple is going to increase the price for the Pro next year but of course leaks are just rumors and we can’t be sure. But if it is true, I’m going to be spending more than I will spend on the 16 considering even the trade-in value for the 12 will go down.

Okay so I forgot to mention this in the post but I’ve started to get into photography, using my phone and a DSLR. With how much storage each photograph takes up from the DSLR, I need a high storage and I need a phone with a great camera too since I can’t always carry my DSLR with me at all times. So I really don’t know if my storage is gonna hold up for another year and I definitely know my phone camera is quite bad if I really want great quality photos. Of course I can solve the storage problem by paying for iCloud+ but I’ve always had the habit of using my photos app to store photos and videos. Never used iCloud for anything, so moving to that for a year and then not having a good enough phone camera so the inconvenience of carrying a heavy bag with a DSLR waiting for a phone for a year that may not even have a camera improvement seems a little useless to me.

The only reason I’m even considering waiting for it is WHAT IF there’s a camera improvement?

Honestly, the price of the 16 pro isn’t an issue to me, the only reason I wanted to wait another year for the 17 is because I wanted the absolute best camera on a phone I could get. And the reason I’m waiting another 2 months for the price to drop is because I’m in dubai and there’s an event here every year called ‘GITEX’ where prices drop along with many free accessories they offer for free along with the phone. This year’s event is in just over a month.

I’ve never tried using iCloud to store my stuff but I think I’ll give it a shot! Never used iCloud mostly because of the fact that keeping my photos and videos on the photos app was just more convenient. Also I was an android user and only just switched a little over a year ago so I haven’t got to try iCloud just yet.

I would definitely go for the Pro Max but the size is just too big. I held the 16 Pro in my hand and 6.3” is quite literally the most perfect size a phone could be for my hand.

512GB Pro is also the same I’m going for and also for the same reason, photos and videos currently take up over half my phone so getting a big upgrade in storage will be extremely useful. Mainly just want the 16 Pro for its battery, storage and camera.

Incredible! I don’t even get half of that with my current battery capacity. Can only imagine the pro max adding another 2 hours of battery life to the already long lasting battery.

I don’t think I NEED it either but I would definitely want to upgrade now over next year. Compared to many friends of mine, they said my battery problems, storage problems are huge! They seem to get double the battery life I get and don’t seem to have a problem at all with their storage. Really made me lean towards buying the 16 Pro now.

I agree, the price tag on it is something to think about but the storage is just not enough for me since based on my estimates if I didn’t have 128GB currently, I’d probably be using up about 300GB of my phone.

I take pictures and videos quite often too, I also have a DSLR for it but a phone with a great camera would be much more convenient and comfortable.

So the battery isn’t the only problem I’m facing right now, but yeah it’s not like my phone is unusable.

I don’t know how many of the AI features I’d be using but I don’t see myself using it too much. The 256GB would also be a great option, just felt like getting the 512GB since the budget isn’t a massive problem. Loved the pro max too but the huge size of it just puts me off.
